Payroll Assistant

Working within the Human Resources Department, the Payroll Assistant will be responsible for providing administrative support for all production and hourly and salary staff within the Edmonton region. The corporate payroll manages the actual payroll processing and function, the Payroll Assistant is responsible for ensuring all the information is provided to the corporate team accurately and on time.
Roles and Responsibilities include, but may not be limited to:
- Manage the information flow in and out of the Workday HRIS system
- Prepare, review, and approve hourly payroll for Bi-Weekly processing (Approximately 1200 +/-, employees)
- Prepare, input, edit, and employee records
- Produces new reports and updates existing reports for HR functions
- Compile new hire information and statistics
- Process employee termination and ROE preparation
- Communicate directly with supervisors on any hour discrepancies or missed time codes.
- Prepare any off cycle payments and communicate changes with Payroll department
- Perform other Human Resources related duties as directed by the Human Resources team
- High School Diploma, GED or equivalent
- Post-Secondary education with an emphasis on Payroll
- 2+ years of payroll experience
- Working knowledge of Kronos T/A is an asset
- Working knowledge of Workday is an asset
- Experience with high volume, multi shift, multi facility payroll in a manufacturing or construction environment is an asset
- Strong communication and organization skills are essential
This position is Monday to Friday however it does require weekly weekend work (approximately 4-6 hours second weekend).
**Salary**: $25.00-$30.00 per hour
