**About the position**:
Currently, we are looking for a dedicated **Project Assistant **to join our **Major Projects team** working in** Duncan, BC on the Cowichan Hospital Project.**

The Project Assistant will assist our Project Managers with billing, document control, permits, manuals, submittals, procurement requests & any other duties to help with project efficiency and job organization. This role will require you to work onsite.

For the right individual there is potential for this role to develop into a Junior Project Manager position.

**Project Assistant Job Responsibilities**:

- Review project construction schedules and summarize changes
- Co-ordinate major project material lead times and purchasing process from budget phase through receipt
- Assist with project site and office binders/files to ensure the most current information is always available
- Assist with the QA/QC function as required
- Manage documentation for time and material billings
- Assist with creating and measuring production target estimates
- Track order shipments and backorders, pursue supplier updates for material production and projected deliveries
- Assist with preparation of O&M manuals
- Help with material supply tenders, completing counts and distributing Bills of Materials and specifications.
- Review and Summarize data received.

**Project Assistant Experience and Skills**:

- Experience in project coordination, administration or office related position within the construction or related field
- High proficiency in MS Office. Experience with AutoCAD, Accubid, MS Project, are an asset
- Experience managing document control, file management, scheduling, data entry, minute taking, etc.
- Highly organized and high attention to detail
- Must be team player with good interpersonal and English communication skills
- Ability to read electrical and/or construction drawings, an asset
- Electrical Engineering Degree or construction TQ, also considered an asset
