All Day Locations:

- Forest Glen (3545 Fieldgate Drive)
- Serson (1100 Pelham Avenue)
- Employees can be assigned to any location within Mississauga or re-deployed to various locations, shifts and/or assigned a variety of job responsibilities on a day-to-day basis._

**Duties and Responsibilities**:
Site Leaders can be responsible for multiple program sites and are responsible for their own transportation between parks. Program times are expected be from 9:00am - 12:00pm and 1:00pm - 4:00pm.
- Provide an inclusive outdoor program experience which includes working with participants with different needs (i.e. children with disabilities, children with behaviour challenges, newcomers, and language barriers).
- Assist to develop, implement, supervise and support objectives and philosophies of the Let's Play in the Park program through quality instruction and staff and customer relations.
- Work in conjunction with the program supervisor and staff to prepare program outlines, daily activities and special events, program supplies and additional programming requirements.
- Provide on-site support, assistance and coaching and developing program staff and volunteers.
- Assist with the safe arrival and/or departure of participants. Maintain and oversee accurate administrative, attendance, and other administrative tasks for all participants.
- Effectively provide quality customer service and act as a knowledge resource to parents, participants, volunteers, and co-workers.
- To conduct safety checks of program equipment and park areas daily. Clean up and store equipment appropriately at the end of the day.
- Effectively and in a timely manner, communicate with Summer Supervisor/Designate with regards to all aspects related to facilities, staffing participants, equipment, supplies or anything that would impact the quality and safe delivery of day to day operations of the programs.
- Incorporate and model the HIGH FIVE Principles of Healthy Child Development in program delivery where appropriate.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.

**Skills and Qualifications**:

- **Wiling to work in outdoor park environment for the duration of the contract. Transportation between locations is required if working between two locations per day. Transportation is the responsibility of the staff if travelling between two locations.**:

- Will have a Secondary School Diploma or working towards one.
- At least 16 years of age.
- Must possess a valid Emergency or Standard First Aid with CPR B or C (Lifesaving Society, Canadian Red Cross Society, St. John’s Ambulance or the Canadian Ski Patrol) certification (must be recognized by WSIB) by June 1, 2024. The award must be current during the employment period.
- Must possess a valid HIGH FIVE ® Principles of Healthy Child Development certification by June 1, 2024.
- One year of experience working with children in a recreational setting.
- Previous experience working with children an asset.

**Hourly Rate**:
Staff will be paid minimum wage on an hourly basis for attending required trainings or meetings.Employment Period is from July 2 - August 23, 2024.
Training for this position will be in mid-May. Dates are TBD and all trainings are mandatory.
