Peer Support Coordinator

This position includes a comprehensive 100% employer-paid benefit package, enrolment in our defined-benefit pension, the Municipal Pension Plan, and three weeks of paid vacation.
A tentative agreement has been reached to renew our Collective Agreement. Effective April 1, 2023, the wage for this position is estimated to be $31.56 (Step 1) - $36.71 (Step 4), JJEP Grid 14. Wage will be verified upon hiring.
Schedule: Monday, Wednesday, Friday 8:30 am - 4:30 pm, Tuesday and Thursday 10:00 am - 6:00 pm
Hours per week: 35 Closing date: Closing date for Internal Applicants: April 4, 2023. If the position is not filled internally, it will remain open until filled.
The Peer Support Coordinator plans, develops, implements, and oversees the day-to-day operation of a Foundry Centre’s Peer Support Program through collaboration with the Program Manager and Foundry Central office. The Coordinator will provide leadership and supervision to Youth Peer Support Workers.
This position will also work with Foundry Central Office to coordinate and implement program research and evaluation activities. The Coordinator ensures quality peer support services are provided that are informed by youth and family needs and preferences and promotes continuous quality improvement for the program. They collaborate with related health and social support services and other relevant community resources, and participate actively in the Foundry provincial network and related working groups and events.
Education/Experience:
Diploma in a related human/social services field.
- Three (3) years recent related experience including one (1) year supervisory or administrative experience. Experience and knowledge should include:
- Peer support practice and principles of recovery.
- Multi-disciplinary health care teams and primary care.
- Developing and implementing projects, supporting the design and delivery of peer support programs.
- Understanding and passion for peer support and genuine commitment to supporting youth and their families to access this service and improve service experiences.
- Or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
