Overhead Crane Operator

Kimco Steel Sales Ltd is currently seeking an Overhead **Crane Operator **to join its New Steel Warehouse Day or Night Shift in order to better service its customers.
**Role and Responsibilities**:
- Operate an Overhead Crane to lift, move, position or place equipment and materials;
- Perform pre-shift inspection, and calculate crane capacities and weight to prepare for rigging and hoisting.
- Loading/Offloading Trailers (Steel Products)
- Monitoring crane stability and load weights
- Reporting any issues to the supervisor
- Ensuring that travel routes are clear
**Key Skills**
- An understanding of how to operate and use an Overhead Crane
- Good team -work skills
- Patience and ability to remain calm in stressful situations
- Attention to detail
- Good safety awareness
**Educational Requirements**:
- High School Diploma will be an asset
**Work Experience Requirements**:
- Minimum of 1 year experience operating Overhead Cranes.
**Compensation**:
- Based on qualifications and experience. (Opportunities for up to 50 hrs./week)
- **Listed Company benefits after one year of service**:
- Must be able to accurately use a measuring tape (A simple Math test must be taken before being hired)
- Night shift premium to be added

Schedule:
Night Shift-Monday to Thursday: 4 p.m. to 1 a.m. and Fridays-4 p.m. to 11 pm
**Salary**: From $20.50 per hour
Expected hours: 44 - 50 per week
