Heavy Equipment Operator

**Purpose of Job**:
- To provide service to the plant, including providing raw materials for production and removing finished products and organizing the yard.
- To load customer deliveries on trailers, safely and efficiently, ensuring the products and quantities are consistent with the shipping paperwork.
**Major Responsibilities and Tasks**:
- Completing daily equipment logs including equipment inspection and maintenance logs. Equipment needs daily routine maintenance to prevent breakdown;
- Maintaining required equipment training certifications and attending annual courses to maintain certifications in good standing;
- Communicating daily with plant staff to ensure a timely flow of materials going in and finished product coming out;
- Loading trucks for customer deliveries;
- Servicing the plant materials in, and finished product out;
- Yard organization;
- Receiving vendor deliveries, proper storage of receivables;
- Equipment maintenance;
- Ensuring all equipment is operated safely and safety procedures and standards are adhered to;
- Following industry best practices and suggesting revisions if required;
- Complying with all _Occupational Health and Safety Act_ (OHSA) requirements;
- Advising Yard/Install Supervisor of any incidents or accidents or equipment requiring repair;
- Reporting any damaged products in the yard to Quality Control so these products may be logged as a “non-conforming” and proactively assessed for repair or repour, as required, to meet customer dates and expectations;
- Ensuring all products moved into the scrap yard have been assessed and logged/labelled appropriately with a non-conformance report;
- Complying with all personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements and equipment safety requirements including but not limited to wearing PPE and following industry standards;
- Complying with all Anchor’s and industry regulations about safely operating equipment;
- Organizing equipment and materials in the in the yard;
- Organizing products in the yard;
- Ensuring products are complete for shipping by delivery dates;
- Operating the overhead crane and forklift to lift products off cores and placing moulds and products in proper places;
- Assisting with all housekeeping tasks.
Performs other related duties or special assignments as assigned.
**Education**:
- Training in lifting/rigging techniques
- Grade 12 diploma an asset
**Experience**:
- Experience operating yard equipment, including forklifts, loaders, travel lifts, mobile cranes, is an asset.
