We are a family run business of more than 100 years. We employ more than 250 staff and continue to grow. Currently, we are looking for a Band Saw Operator to join our New Steel Warehouse Day Shift team.
- Ensure the safe operation of an automatic vertical band saw
- Cut steel to correct length and measurements
- Must be able to accurately use a measuring tape
- Maintains equipment and keep work area clean and safe
- Perform basic preventative maintenance on saw equipment
- Operate Overhead Crane as needed (Training provided)
- Understand and follow oral and written directions, able to read invoices and communicate effectively
- Lock-Out/Tag-Out training will be an asset
- Meet schedules and time lines
- Mechanically inclined
- Carry out daily inspection of the equipment
- Able to lift, pull, push or carry up to 60 pounds
- Requires bending, squatting, crawling, climbing, reaching, standing, walking
- Must be able to pass a simple math test
- Able to work independently with little supervision

**Note: Listed benefits after one year of service**

**Other benefits after one year of service include clothing and boot allowance and 2 paid sick days and 2 paid bereavement days.**

**Education and Experience**
- High school diploma and experience in Band Saw Operations will be a preferred asset, but willing to train.

**Note: With no experience the starting wage will be $18.00 per hour while in training and $19.00 per hour after training is successfully completed.**
