**Join PHSA’s Indigenous Health Team** to support the work of transformative systems change by coordinating, developing and/or contributing to projects that connect directly to the Provincial Health Services Authority’s (PHSA) mandate and service plan. Our team’s work to address anti-Indigenous racism focuses on foundational mandates regarding the rights of Indigenous Peoples; PHSA-wide strategies, initiatives and policies; and partnering with various PHSA departments and stakeholders to achieve common goals.

The Project Coordinator will work with other members of the Indigenous Youth Wellness Team (IYW), PHSA Indigenous Health, First Nations, Urban Indigenous partners and Indigenous organizations to develop wellness-based programming using culturally relevant and safe approaches.

In collaboration with the IYW Team and partners, the Project Coordinator will be responsible for overseeing the Ask Auntie and Cuystwi Indigenous Youth Wellness Program by providing tools, knowledge, and strengthen skills for Indigenous youth to improve all aspects of their health. The Project Coordinator will coordinate all aspects of the projects including promotion, maintenance of the online website and learning modules and related curriculum, facilitating community programming, and coordinating the evaluation of the programs.

**What you ‘ll do**
- Coordinate the execution of projects, assuring they are done in an efficient manner, that they adhere to project protocols, that they conform to applicable institutional and ethical policies and procedures and privacy legislation, and that they are completed within the required timelines. Supervise staff or students assisting in large or complex projects.
- Work from an established project plan to ensure the projects are developed according to timelines, vision, budget and scope; prepare required quarterly reporting.
- Identify, collect, and analyze relevant information relating to current projects, and provide input and recommendations to project/program team for development, implementation, analysis, and dissemination
- Communication and coordination between and among project internal and external partners and stakeholders including providing timely project status updates to project/program leadership.
- Coordinate development of culturally competent evaluation framework by working with communities and referencing relevant evaluation literature.

**What you bring**
- A level of education, training and experience equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree in Health or Social Sciences with recent, related project management/coordination experience at a community or health authority level plus 5 years experience working directly with Indigenous and First Nations communities.

What you have
- Comprehensive knowledge of Indigenous history, cultures, communities, cultural interference, social determinants of health, and Indigenous health systems.
- Skill in working with communities from a strength based paradigm with experience or knowledge of culturally competent evaluation practices.
- Proven ability to relate to and build relationships with a variety of people from diverse backgrounds including Indigenous peoples, Indigenous service providers, provincial and federal agencies either one-on-one and in-groups.
- Awareness of and commitment to learning and understanding the Truth & Reconciliation Commission’s 94 Calls to Action (2015), In Plain Sight Report (2020), BC's Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples Act (2019), and other related reports.
- Commitment to upholding the shared responsibility of creating lasting and meaningful reconciliation in Canada as per TRC (2015) and BC's Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples Act (2019).
