**Job Description**:

- Supervise Project Managers and Assoc Project Managers and/or Project Coordinators with respect to project allocations and task completion.
- Acts as back-up for group members when needed or assigns back-up when group members are out
- Support for the group as a resource and role model
- Ensure group is meeting agreed upon KPIs and financial responsibilities
- Act as a liaison with other departments and groups leaders to align with goals and expectations of operations and other support functions (QA, QC, MM etc.)
- Manages projects which are complicated and/or large-scale.
- Monitor and maintain the flow of work and schedule progress meetings with staff.
- Provide team updates to the Department and Site Head on a weekly, monthly, or as required basis.
- Manage resource allocation and project prioritization and work across groups and functions to manage resources efficiently.
- Provide, lead, and execute solutions to problems.
- Provide mentorship and lead improvement initiatives.
- Serve as primary of contact for clients once samples are in-house
- Facilitate login to set up LIMS assignments for project-based work or getting clarifications from clients when needed.
- Coordinate with the client to resolve any discrepancies.
- Manage project timelines and cross-functional dependencies to ensure acceptable deliverables to the Client.
- Understand the purpose or goal of the project or work
- Together with the client, assess the critical success factors for the project and identify how each will be measured
- Develop, deliver, and execute a deadline driven plan.
- Maintain project plan in PM management tool which will be shared with all internal stakeholders
- Keep lab apprised of client-imposed deadlines and important timelines
- Ensure that project budget is on-track and managed according to its planned scope
- Ensure PO or pre-payment is received from the client upon receipt of samples.
- Provides up to date PO information as the project progresses to the operation for reagents/materials purchase.
- Track pass-through costs for projects for billing notes
- Participate in project hand-off and kick-off meetings and take over responsibility of client from TCM.
- Lead weekly/biweekly meetings with client as needed to keep client informed of projects’ status and discuss issues that arise to keep all team members focused and on task.
- Maintain agendas and meeting minutes for client meetings and distribute to all participants.
- Provide timely status update of the project to both internal and external.
- Identify and escalate (as required) project risks and issue, and develop with the Project Team risk mitigation plan to decrease and/or resolve issues and risks
- Coordinate with BD and Client Service group identified or potential scope creep. Address scope creep with clients and ensure it is well documented.
- Work with client services to ensure quotes are updated to include any additional work items or supply new quotes when needed.
- Any other duties as assigned.
- Identify and participate in business process improvement initiatives.
- Strictly follow published projects plans, SOPs, QA manuals unless authorized by Department Manager in writing.
- Contact Department Manager and/or Group Leaders if there are any doubts regarding the project plan execution or ability fulfill test requirements to the plan satisfactorily.
- Based on sound knowledge of methods/procedures/policies participate in discussions of trouble shooting and investigations of project related issues.
- Capable of multi-tasking with great accuracy and efficiency.

**Qualifications**:

- Degree in Pharmacy, Biotechnology, Biology, Chemistry or related science
- PMP preferred, but not required.
- 3 to 5 years or more experience in managing Pharma projects.
- Includes over 3 years’ experience in a customer/client contact position.
- Management Experience a plus
- Thorough knowledge Regulatory Affairs and Pharmaceutical development with emphasis on CMC.
- Strong negotiation, communication, customer relation, and interpersonal skills
- The incumbent must be capable of multi-tasking in order to meet the required sample turn-around time and client satisfaction while working together with the Laboratory Managers on a regular basis.
- Must be able to read, understand and follow work instructions in a safe, accurate and timely manner.
- Proven ability to manage and coordinate multiple projects in a fast-paced, highly professional environment.
- Ability to work well with others & independently.
- Works well under pressure.
- Extended hours and shift work may be required from time to time.
- Travel to other SGS locations
