Description

Job Summary:
You are a safety-conscious Asphalt Plant Foreperson with at least 3 years’ of experience supervising crews. You will be working with our Highway Construction crew throughout Alberta on various paving projects. You are a team player who ensures the well-being of others and lends a hand where needed. This will be a full-time seasonal position and Ledcor will help support your on-going employee training and career development in our diversified company. Essential Responsibilities:

- Demonstrate ability to manage Asphalt Plant safely and effectively
- Ensure regular equipment maintenance is completed
- Monitor operations to ensure consistent production and be responsible for completing daily checks and maintain plant logs
- Must lead and comply with Ledcor’s Health & Safety programs
- Supervise daily operations to ensure the safety of the crew, facility, environment, and members of the public
- Manage resources, equipment, labour, and contract truckers to perform highway construction activities efficiently
- Plan and prioritize work to meet contractual milestones
- Liaise with quality control supervisor to ensure quality objectives are met and to ensure compliance with contract specifications
- Inspect equipment regularly and ensure preventative maintenance schedules are followed
- Lead daily safety toolbox meetings with the crew and ensure health, safety, and environment related concerns are addressed promptly

Qualifications:

- Previous experience managing an Asphalt Plant
- Must successfully complete pre-access drug and alcohol testing
- Must possess a valid driver’s license and be able to provide a valid driver’s abstract
- Strong leadership skills, capable of leading a team
- Ability to incorporate health and safety concepts into work activities
- Ability to work under mínimal supervision
- Mechanical inclination would be a definite asset

Work Conditions:

- This position is likely to run from May to November 2024
- Living out allowance of $135.00 per day is provided
- Benefits and RRSP provided
- Preference for those with an RV or trailer, camp area with hookups provided
