CAP holds meetings with members of the government to find practical ways to improve federal programs, policies and services for off-reserve Indigenous Peoples.

**Summary**

Reporting to the Director of Policy Development, the Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls (MMIWG) Program Manager will guide the implementation of CAP's MMIWG National Action Plan, offer program expertise, and guide project and program development for CAP and with provincial and territorial affiliates.

The MMIWG Program Manager will work closely with senior management for overall planning and with affiliates to identify policy areas and programmatic responses to the historical issues facing Indigenous women and girls and 2SLGBTQQIA+ individuals and their communities. The MMIWG Program Manager will be highly organized, adaptable, and able to prioritize tasks while working independently.

**Responsibilities**
- Implement CAP project and program work in accordance with contribution agreements
- Prepare briefing notes, reports, position papers and correspondence
- Assist in review and strategy proposals to change policy that negatively impacts Indigenous women, girls and 2S+
- Lead quantitative and qualitative data collection and analysis
- Conduct community engagements and research
- Research policy issues and provide advice on policy issues facing Indigenous women, girls, and 2SLGBTQQIA+ communities
- Draft correspondence
- Prepare quarterly summary reports of projects and programs
- Ensure all reporting and deliverables are coordinated
- Manage the workload of MMIWG strategic area
- Advise policy analysts
- Identify where engagement is required on policy areas and initiate outreach to appropriate stakeholders
- Develop and maintain community and stakeholder partnerships
- Engage and network with Indigenous experts and governmental stakeholders
- Lead and conduct the review and analysis of data and research findings
- Perform other duties as required

**Requirements**:

- University degree in political or social sciences or a related discipline, or equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience
- Proven experience in project management and demonstrated work history related to Indigenous organizations
- Must have an understanding of issues for off-reserve Indigenous Peoples living in urban, rural, remote and isolated areas throughout Canada
- Experience in building positive relationships with community-based organizations
- Experience leading collaborative work plans and managing complex projects with external partners to ensure organizational priorities are reflected in final products
- Excellent written and oral communication skills at the project management level in English. French is an asset
- Advanced writing skills, including proposal and report writing ability
- Exceptional organizational skills and ability to effectively coordinate multiple competing priorities to meet deadlines
- Effective listening skills, high levels of interpersonal competence and negotiating skills, as well as effective decision-making abilities
- Ability to carry out gender-based plus analysis
- Ability to conduct research and analyze data
- Leadership abilities to drive initiatives forward by problem-solving, overcoming obstacles and ensuring results
