**Position Overview**:
Reporting to the Accounting Supervisor, the Accounts Receivable Specialist is responsible for ensuring the timely collection for monies owed to the organization.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

- Assure the timely collection of monies owed to the organization
- Coordinate with customers and staff to resolve invoicing discrepancies
- Resolve customer complaints and answer inquiries regarding to policies and procedures
- Lead the investigation of collection problems
- Investigate and resolve billing discrepancies or misapplied payments
- Prepare reports as scheduled on monies collected, payment methods, outstanding accounts and any invoice adjustments
- Assist with the development of department policies and procedures
- Collaborate with Accounting Supervisor and Director of Finance to maintain collection goals and general A/R performance levels
- Contact customers to secure payment information
- Make arrangements for payment of outstanding and late accounts
- Maintain accurate customer files
- Build working relationships with internal departments to resolve customer disputes in a timely manner
- Deposit daily incoming cash payments
- Post customer payments daily in the ERP software

**Professional Qualifications & Skills**:

- 5+ years of experience in accounts receivable capacity
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to prioritize tasks
- Excellent computer skills including Office 365 and ERP
- Experience in gathering data, compiling information and preparing reports
- Strong diplomatic, negotiation and conflict resolution skills in order to handle late payments and delinquent accounts
- Effective attention to detail and high degree of accuracy
- Excellent teamwork and team building skills
