**Primary Location**:Central Branch. Travel throughout Oakville will be required.

The Fund Development Coordinator plays a key role in OPL’s fundraising strategies and objectives. This full-time position assists in the development of fundraising goals and soliciting funds from the donor pool and community prospects.

The Fund Development Coordinator is supported by the Manager, Community Development & Engagement with the ongoing activities of the fundraising plan to increase revenue to support the strategic direction of OPL and strengthen the library’s presence in the community.

**What you'll do**
**As a Fund Development Coordinator you will**:

- Coordinate and execute all fundraising activities on behalf of OPL’s strategic direction
- Support annual campaigns (operational and capital)
- Develop and maintain key relationships with businesses, community organizations/groups and external stakeholders in Oakville.
- Identify, research (create prospect profiles) and connect with corporations, donors and foundations for donations, sponsorship's and in-kind donations.
- Develop cultivation and solicitation plans and track donor activity for prospects in donor CRM and department tracking documents.
Identify 3rd -party fundraising opportunities/partners and build relationships with 3rd party fundraisers; as well as cultivate and solicit gifts, pledges, and stewardship from community residents, community service clubs, foundations, and businesses.
- Coordinate with Manager to track fundraising goals to ensure revenue generation is on plan.
- Assist in the design, production, and distribution of all fundraising materials and community engagement materials and social media that promotes OPL in the community with the assistance of the marketing & communications department.
- Maintain and update fundraising information on OPL Website, intranet, staff newsletter and relevant marketing materials.
- Prepare receipts and acknowledgement letters to donors; ensure receipts are handled in accordance with laws governing Canadian charities and CRA guidelines.
- Coordinate and conduct thank you calls with donors and sponsors.
- Keep apprised of current fundraising trends and best practices and adapt fundraising strategies.
- Coordinate and oversee outside organizations who wish to hold fundraising events for the library.
- Report financial and donor metrics and projections, along with tracking to ensure that revenue generation meets expectations.
- Liaise with the Friends of the Library to support their mandate and enhance their profile as a fundraiser for OPL.
- Provide excellent customer service to both internal and external customers, adhering to AODA’s Customer Service Standard
- Perform other duties as assigned.

**Your experience and educational background**:

- University degree or college diploma in a relevant field, preferably fundraising
- Membership in a professional fundraising association preferred
- Minimum of two (2) experience in related field of fundraising and community engagement
- Knowledge and experience in most types of fundraising initiatives including direct mail, special events, donor solicitation, sponsorships, and grant writing.
- Strong understanding of donor stewardship
- Proficiency in fundraising software, contact management software and MS office; understanding of data entry and report generation
- Strong budget management and financial tracking skills
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work with a wide range of individuals
- Effective project management and strong presentation skills
