**About the position**:
The HSSE Lead role is integral to ensuring and advising on legislative, best practice, and educational practices compliance within our operations. We’re seeking a full-time individual that has a collaborative, highly motivated, flexible and has a leadership mindset.
Normal work hours expected during business hours (Mon-Fri 8:00-4:30 pm) with some overtime, site observation, and travel, expected.

**Requirements & Preferred Skills**:
- One to three years+ of OHS experience in a similar role.
- 1 year OHS Certificate or 2-year diploma in OHS or similar background from a reputable BCRSP credited secondary institution. Equivalents may be considered.
- Legislation and Workers’ Compensation Knowledge is a must.
- Holds a current and in good standing ACSA, BCCSA or other certifying partner HSA, NCSO or BCRSP CRST or CRSP designation.
- ACSA and or BCCSA Auditor Certification.
- Previous experience or knowledge in utility, civil, construction, industrial, and telecommunications is an asset.
**Duties**:
- Maintain Health & Safety Program to legislative, COR, and best industry best practice standards.
- Conducting and participating in Safety meetings, inspections, orientations, training.
- Maintaining confidentiality re: injury, WCB, Drug & Alcohol testing and results.
- Handling WCB Clearance, Rate Statements, Injuries, Claims and Return to Work MW Offers.
- Maintain records and stats of FLHA, inspections, orientations, meetings, incidents, TRIF, manhours, vehicles.
- Advise and facilitate Health & Safety Committee Meetings.
- Assist and conduct employee evaluations and tools.
- Conduct AB ACSA and BC BCCSA COR Audits annually and be the main coordinator for external audits.
- Assist with prequalification and project safety management concerns.
- Educate on hazards, hazard assessments, emergency practices, and other health and safety-related material.
- Maintain contractor qualification platforms (ISN, Avetta, ComplyWorks/Veriforce, CQN,
Cognibox).
