**Duties**:
Reporting to the Chief Administrative Officer (CAO), the Corporate Initiatives Lead is responsible for project management of strategic initiatives, including development and implementation ensuring consistency and compatibility with Council’s Strategic Priorities and alignment with the corporate Mission, Vision, and Values.

This position acts as a resource to the CAO and Corporate Leadership Team (CLT) to lead key corporate initiatives, including community improvement projects, government relations, strategic planning, policy development, research, writing, analysis, community, engagement, and innovative community partnership initiatives.

**Work Performed**:

- Project manage multiple and complex corporate initiatives, including establishing objectives, conducting research, establishing budgets, setting targets and timelines ensuring alignment with the City’s Strategic Priorities.
- Consult and liaise with management staff, council, internal and external stakeholders, legal counsel, and partners (including other local municipalities) on various initiatives to solicit input and expertise on action items.
- Manage external consultants and contractors hired to undertake specific projects as the primary contact for project consultants.
- Attend Council, Committee, community and other public meetings and events, write and present strategic reports and briefings as required.
- Act as a resource for legal counsel including researching and analyzing municipal records, case files, and depositions for confidential and high priority cases, including matters under review by the Ontario Land Tribunal.
- Develop policies in collaboration with the management team and provide policy support.
- Monitor Provincial and Federal policy and analyze new/pending legislation and regulatory guidelines affecting the municipality;
- Develop, coordinate, facilitate, and lead public consultation and survey initiatives, including focus groups and public meetings using both on-line engagement tools and in-person best practices
- Develop ways to promote community initiatives and public participation, including marketing and community outreach;
- Performs other related duties as required.

**Qualifications**:

- Undergraduate University Degree in Public Administration, Public Policy, Political Science or equivalent education.
- Minimum 3-5 years related professional experience
- Valid Driver’s License (Class G).

**Specialized Skills, Abilities, Training, License, Memberships, or Certifications**
- Sound knowledge of the Municipal Act, Municipal Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act and other provincial legislation.
- Proficiency in MS Office, Adobe and AODA compliant documentation.
- Excellent report writing and presentation preparation skills.
- Superior conceptual, analytical, and research skills.
- Strong project management skills.
