**Education and Social Media Coordinator**

**Scope of Position**:
This 8 Week Contract position is a remote role that can be based out of Bracebridge, Port Carling, Rosseau, Gravenhurst or surrounding area. The Education and Social Media Coordinator (E&SCoordinator) will work collaboratively with the Education and Awareness Committee and Board of Directors of Safe Quiet Lakes (SQL) to help with a educational outreach and programming for the Summer boating season in Muskoka.

Duties include Social Media activation, webinar facilitation and promotion. There will also be direct outreach to local organizations (such as associations, marinas, resorts) and to individuals at boating-oriented events throughout the summer. They will also support Board Members with administrative duties as needed and help us establish key metrics to measure our community impact on raising awareness and changing behaviors related to safe boating.

**Duties and Responsibilities**
- Develop and implement social media strategies to increase engagement and drive traffic to our website
- Create and curate engaging content for our social media platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn
- Monitor and respond to comments and messages on our social media accounts
- Analyze and report on social media metrics to inform future strategies and develop communications calendar for the year
- Develop and maintain relationships with local organizations, government agencies, and other stakeholders
- Research new avenues to distribute SQL material (ie. restaurants on water, cottage rental companies, etc), develop contacts, distribute material and update database with contacts
- Represent Safe Quiet Lakes at community events and meetings
- Organize and lead outreach initiatives, including presentations and workshops, to raise awareness about our organization and its mission
- Help maintain a database of contacts and stakeholders for future outreach efforts
- Collaborate with the Safe Quiet Lakes team to support ongoing projects and initiatives
- Promote SQL on approved social media channels and host webinars with key community partners.
- Help create a metrics scorecard and report on key metrics monthly.
- Support the mailing and distribution of SQL material.
- Any other duties as needed.

**Requirements**:

- Working knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel and Powerpoint).
- Strong understanding of social media platforms, trends, and best practices
- Experience with content creation and graphic design is a plus
- Passion for environmental conservation and community engagement
- Must have own laptop or personal computer.
- Dynamic, self motivated individual who can work independently.
- Recent graduate or currently enrolled in a post-secondary program.
- Previous marketing/communication/sales experience preferred.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Comfortable making presentations.
- Flexible work hours. Able to work occasional weekends (boat shows etc.)
- Use of a car essential. Boating experience and licence required.
- Familiarity with Muskoka Lakes and strong desire to make our lakes safe for all to enjoy.

**Job Type**: Seasonal
Contract length: 8 weeks

**Salary**: $17.00-$18.00 per hour

Schedule:

- Monday to Friday
- Weekend availability

Supplemental pay types:

- Bonus pay
