To support us on our journey, Sinai Health System is looking for a **Mental Health Clinician** to support our **Ambulatory Program **in the **Department of Psychiatry **at our Mount Sinai Hospital Campus.

**Responsibilities**
- Coordinate and provide clinical care for clients that both facilitates and supports recovery for adults facing a broad range of mental health challenges in the community with a primary on focus the medical/psychiatry interface.
- The position will be primarily situated within the Clinic for HIV and Related Concerns with broad scope to provide mental health support to patients with acute and chronic medical illness
- Ability to formulate treatment plans, monitor client response to therapeutic interventions and ongoing collaboration and communication with the inter-professional team and with the client’s social and community networks.
- Assist with resource navigation and linkage with community mental health services to support transition and ongoing care
- Facilitation of both individual and group treatment
- Proficiency in completing behavioural observations and mental status assessments that help formulate and develop care plans and psychosocial interventions.
- Ability to assist clients to develop coping and living skills based on the principles of psychosocial rehabilitation using a client-centred approach
- Ongoing clinical documentation
- Contribute to program development, provide education and support to learners of all disciplines.
- Job Requirements- Master’s degree in nursing, occupational therapy, social work, or related clinical discipline
- Registration and current membership in good standing with a relevant regulatory college
- Minimum 2 years relevant work experience in a mental health setting required
- Familiarity with psychotherapeutic techniques targeting mood, anxiety, trauma, substance use and motivation for change through both individual and group modalities
- Sound knowledge of psychiatric disorders, crisis intervention skills, support for addiction issues, interventions for severe and persistent mental illness
- Excellent organizational, communication, time management and interpersonal skills, along with ability to work effectively as a team member in a dynamic, inter-professional environment
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Knowledge of the Ontario Mental Health Act, mental health reform principles, the Substitute Decisions Act, the Health Care Consent Act and PHIPA requirements
- Ability to adapt to changing work environment
- Proactively identify opportunities for and make continuous process improvement to prevent harm and improve client outcomes
- Demonstrated satisfactory work performance and attendance
- Demonstrated commitment to collaborative practice
- Ability to work effectively, both independently and together with the team under high pressure conditions
- Strong decision making, problem recognition, problem solving skills and conflict resolution skills
