Mental Health Clinician, Assertive Community

Sinai Health's Department of Psychiatry is seeking an experienced Mental Health Clinician to work with its Assertive Community Treatment Team (ACTT). As a Mental Health Clinician, you will provide direct patient care including psychiatric and physical health needs assessments, crisis intervention and you will develop and monitor patient care plans with the treatment team.
**About this team**:
The Mount Sinai Hospital Ethno-Cultural ACTT provides intensive treatment for individuals suffering from severe and persistent Mental Illness. Our goal is to support recovery and the ability to live in the community by improving their quality of life. The ACTT Program specializes in the provision of culturally competent and sensitive care to primarily Asian and South East Asian communities including: Chinese, Korean, Tamil, and Vietnamese. The interprofessional team of clinicians (including nursing, social work, occupational therapy, psychiatry and peer support) provides counselling, case management, support with medication management, assistance with activities of daily living, advocacy/help with accessing community services and psycho-educational and support groups.
**In this role you will**:
- Work within an inter-professional team which includes Social Workers, Psychiatrists, Occupational Therapist, Nurses, Case Managers, Psychiatry Residents, and Program Assistants
- Participate in evaluation research, program development, support community outreach and service initiatives for the program
- Assist in building and maintaining networks with community agencies, groups, and resources, as appropriate
- Deliver community mental health education and training and offer clinical consultation and mental health awareness to the community

Mandatory
- Successful completion of either a Master's Degree in a health-related discipline (including Social Work, Counselling) or a Bachelor of Nursing
- Current member in good standing with a relevant regulatory college (College of Nurses of Ontario, Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers, College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario)
- Minimum of 3 or more years of clinical experience in the care of mental illness
- Clinical experience in general psychiatry, crisis and psychosocial intervention
- Must be fluent in both of the following languages: Korean
Skills and Knowledge
- Ability to provide field education to practicum students of a related discipline, when assigned
- Must be a self-starter, work well independently and within a dynamic team, and should be able to demonstrate skilled
- Ability to work with a variety of patients across the spectrum of mental illness
- Excellent organizational, communication (verbal and written), computer literacy, and interpersonal skills
- Experience with suicide risk assessment required
- Demonstrated satisfactory work performance and attendance record
