Reporting to the Quality Manager, the QC Coordinator (Electrical) will work directly with the execution team and supervision to ensure that construction work is completed in accordance with inspection and test plans and associated documentation.

This position is based in the Tiverton, ON

What you will be doing:

- Be aware of inspection and testing requirements for construction work execution, such as Inspection and Test planning, Inspection and testing, and Inspection and Test Status.
- Perform inspection and test planning activities and have these documented and approved as outlined in the Bird QMS and applicable procedure(s), project quality plan and customer requirements prior to work starting, including authoring the inspection and test plans Inspection and Test Planning and Implementation;
- Coordinate that the proper review and approvals of inspection and test planning documents is completed as required internally by Bird and externally by the Customer as the QA/QC Manager’s delegate;
- Ensure all applicable quality records are completed as required with all supporting documentation and information logged accordingly as required;
- Ensure all inspection and test planning documents and records are identifiable, traceable, legible, and readily available for review and reference.
- Prepare and participate in meetings with project construction team, architects, consultants, and subcontractors and distribute accurate and detailed meeting minutes, as necessary.
- Assist with providing final document turnover to client at completion of project;
- Maintain project awareness to keep Project Manager and others informed about the work status including potential project nonconformances and their dispositions, and corresponding corrective actions.
- Identifying non-conforming parts, record and initiate the process to disposition such findings.
- Inspecting electrical assembly, subassemblies, and components.

What are we looking for:

- Completed post-secondary degree or diploma in electrical engineering or a construction-related discipline.
- Minimum 3 years of QA/QC / Inspection related experience, preferably with a General Contractor or subcontractor.
- Ability to read and interpret contract specifications, drawings, and other construction documents.
- Excellent computer skills and proficiency with MS Office including MS Project; experience with SharePoint is a plus.
- Proficient in the interpretation of complex engineering drawings, schematics, wire lists and process plans.
- Excellent communication skills, plus the ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a busy environment with mínimal supervision.
- Collaborative approach and customer focus to establish and maintain effective relationships.
