Acheson, Canada SMS Equipment Inc. Full time

At **SMS Equipment, **our **Inventory Supervisor **is responsible for managing all aspects of inventory control and purchasing functions within the region. The **Inventory Supervisor **will collaborate with SMS personnel, Komatsu, Komatsu Mining Germany and various other vendors to purchase and control inventory in a cost-effective manner. This position is based in **Acheson, AB.**

This position offers a **hybrid **work arrangement.

The salary range for this position is **$95,000 - $100,000.**

**Responsibilities include but are not limited to**:

- Responsible for overseeing inventory control activities, including consignment inventories and component exchange programs, to ensure accurate and timely fulfillment of customer order requirements.
- Ensure Inventory Analysts are monitoring stock levels and making decisions on when to replenish.
- Guide the team on inventory analysis of non-turning and obsolete parts for write down and sell, transfer, return to supplier or scrap.
- Monitor key performance indicators within the region to ensure that trends are managed related to total parts inventory value, inventory turns, non-turning inventory, obsolescence, etc.
- Ensure aged parts review is done regularly and actioned accordingly.
- Lead and participate in inventory optimization initiatives and projects, such as ROIC (Return on Invested Capital), consignment inventories, etc.
- Enforce proper procedures for component exchange programs, including work order management.
- Ensure Components staff are reviewing and maintaining component exchange program inventory.
- Ensure Components staff are maintaining communication with company shops and vendor rebuild shops.
- Supervise Inventory Analysts and Components staff by coaching and mentoring through training and updates on current and new products to ensure the department is meeting/exceeding customer and business objectives aligned with company targets.
- Encourage continuous improvement within the department by engaging teams and understanding customer requirements.
- Responsible for conducting annual inventory counts and reconciliation within the region, which includes occasional travel to remote branches and/or customer sites.
- Help coordinate annual vendor returns and provides guidance and direction on customer return policy.
- Promote and participate in safe and healthy work behavior's and practices at all times in support of SMS’s Health and Safety Policies.

**Qualifications**:

- Minimum 5 years’ experience in high inventory control in a warehouse environment.
- Effective leadership skills.
- Customer focused with a proven sense of urgency.
- Ability to manage multiple and often competing priorities in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment.
- Excellent negotiation, analytical, organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Solid working knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
- Parts Journeyperson Certification or knowledge of heavy-duty equipment would be an asset.
