- The opportunity- Acts within CWBTS, reporting to the AVP, Trust Finance Operations & Compliance to enable oversight of regulatory compliance.-
- Responsible for day-to-day support of Canadian Western Trust (CWT), a federally regulated entity, through activities to ensure robust compliance, and risk practices and collaborating with shared services compliance and regulatory partners within CWB Financial Group (CWBFG) in support of ,.-
- Subject Matter Expert and advisor for CWBTS compliance and is involved in monitoring the risk environment.- The Analyst, Business Integrity. contributes to organizational risk mitigation, operational effectiveness while incorporating a client and team focus to align organizational goals and strategic objectives.
- Areas of focus
- Risk & Compliance Oversight- Provide day-to-day first line support to CWBTS and act as the primary contact point in the business for Regulatory Compliance and questions for CWBTS Departments and escalate material items to AVP, Trust Finance Operations & Compliance-
- Assist AVP, Trust Finance Operations & Compliance to implement policies, procedures and controls that support robust financial and risk reporting and metrics. This includes managing and executing effective compliance monitoring, processes, and reporting procedures for CWBTS as an entity overall, as supported by appropriate Risk Control Assessments (RCAs), regular risk metric-based analysis (KRI) of compliance risk/performance and updating of other manuals as required/as assigned.-
- Collect data and compile clear, accurate and timely reports for the AVP Compliance, CWT senior management, and CWBFG senior management as required including reporting on the regulatory compliance of CWBTS, adherence to CWT policies and procedures, and CWB policies and procedures where applicable (i.e., Business Continuity Plan)-
- Collaborate with Ops Support to document, formalize, standardize, reconcile, comply with tax reporting and QI processes. This includes advising on proper client identification and documentation requirements for QI purposes including the development and maintenance of a QI Compliance Regime and applicable tax withholding in accordance with the IRS Qualified Intermediary Agreement.-
- Obtain, analyze and report on data related to compliance programs within CWBTS which includes but not limited to; monitoring of new and existing customer accounts, maintenance of AML procedures, AML/ATF oversight activity, AML Inherent Risk Assessments, Customer and Product Risk Assessments, Transaction Monitoring tasks, and AML/ATF Wires in and out, investigation of suspicious transactions, preparing Unusual Activity Reports (UARs) and enhanced due diligence and monitoring activities for higher risk customers, as well as effective and timely completion of risk/control assessments.- Compliance, Support and Advice- Primary point of contact and knowledge expert for CWBTS including advising on risk mitigations activities on client activities such as windups and account transfers.-
