Languages: English

Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate

Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years

Work site environment: Cold/refrigerated

**Work setting**:
Fruit and vegetable processing plant, Bakery, Meat processing and/or packing plant/establishment

**Personal suitability**:
Efficient interpersonal skills, Flexibility, Judgement, Organized, Team player, Values and ethics, Reliability

**Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses**:
Safe quality foods (SQF) Certifi cate, First Aid Certificate

**Regulations knowledge**:
Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) regulations, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP),Knowledge of labour relations

**Tasks**:

- Train staff/workers in job duties, safety procedures and company policies,
- Recommend personnel actions such as hiring and promotions,
- Prepare production and other reports,
- Recommend measures to improve productivity and product quality,
- Supervise, co-ordinate and schedule (and possibly review) activities of workers,
- Establish methods to meet work schedules and co-ordinate work activities with other work units,
- Identify, evaluate, control and prevent hazards at all stages of the food production process,
- Requisition or order materials, equipment and supplies

**Supervision**:
5-10 people, Staff in various areas of responsibility, Industrial butchers and meat cutters, poultry preparers and related workers, Labourers in fish processing, Labourers in food, beverage and tobacco processing, Process control and machine operators, food and beverage processing

**Work conditions and physical capabilities**:
Fast-paced environment, Handling heavy loads, Attention to detail, Overtime required, Work under pressure
