Employment Type: Full Time - Permanent

Salary Range: SP3, Level 5, $88,792 - $110,990 per year. The final compensation for this position will be determined based on individual factors, including education, qualifications, experience, and internal equity.

Hydrogeologist, In Situ Applications Approvals - Hybrid

The Opportunity

What your day-to-day will look like:
Provide technical guidance and input to assist with emergency incident responses, coordinated by the AER’s field centres, as well as support enterprise regulatory enhancement projects, to improve our regulations and requirements.-
- Support the appeal and hearing processes, including Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) sessions.

What we’re looking for in you:
- Bachelor of Science degree in, Geology, Earth Science, Engineering or Environmental Science or a related field with a specialization in hydrogeology.- Applicants registered as a Professional Geologist (P.Geo) or Engineer (P.Eng) designation with the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Alberta (APEGA), is considered an asset.- 5+ years of related experience in hydrogeology within the in situ sector.- Strong understanding of Alberta’s regulatory framework and associated legislations and enactments is considered an asset.- Strong understanding of fundamental hydrogeological concepts and methods.- Able to present and communicate complex technical information to a variety of audiences, demonstrating strong written and verbal communication skills.- Beginner to intermediate awareness of project management principles demonstrating well-developed organizational and analytical skills, with the ability to meet deadlines and work under pressures.- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with multiple stakeholders, both internal and external.
