Elton Manufacturing is currently looking for a **Purchasing Manager** to join our executive team in Mississauga, Ontario.

We are a leader in the building products industry dedicated to customer satisfaction through empowerment and integrity.

**JOB SUMMARY**:
Reporting to the Vice President of Operations you will be an integral part of our senior management team overseeing the implementation of the supply and production strategies as well as manage daily purchasing operations across our business locations in Milton and Mississauga.

As the Purchasing Manager, you will contribute to the success of Elton Manufacturing by developing and nurturing supplier & global vendor relationships, implementing sourcing strategies, and providing crucial support to our operations and business development teams.

You will be the main contact related to any key purchasing issues and projects and offer most effective corrective actions and measures. You will maintain our local and global vendor price information, contribute to pricing structures, and drive any revisions or exceptions. You will develop and maintain strong working relationships with suppliers, managing costs, quality, and delivery performance while securing best possible price.

You will drive and lead any continuous improvement initiatives related to your processes and systems. You will be responsible for collaboration with and implementation of sourcing programs.

You will be an integral part of production planning, and work with our Operations Team to ensure best practices in timely and cost-effective inventory gain.

You will collaborate with our operations teams, sales and business development professionals, as well as customer service to ensure best results. You will be involved in price negotiations with vendors in order to secure terms most advantageous for Elton.

You will conduct your work in a safe manner adhering to all our Health & Safety standards and help develop and train a team of effective professionals and engage in overall improvement of our operations and business practices.

**EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION**:

- Minimum seven (7) years of materials management, procurement, business administration and/or operations experience in a building products manufacturing work environment.
- Ideally, you have manufacturing exposure to and extensive purchasing experience with construction/building products, plastics, vinyl, glass & aluminum, injection moulding or extrusion industry.
- You are certified in supply chain, inventory management, and/or production control.
- You have strong ERP/MRP and technical background.

**SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS**:

- Experience with ERP systems (SAGE100 is a plus)
- Understanding of Materials Management and Procurement concepts
- Strong analytical and independent decision-making skills
- Working knowledge of manufacturing resources planning,
- Lead times and work-schedules
- Attention to detail coupled with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage in a fact-pace, quickly-changing production environment while working with tight deadlines and meeting highest standards of performance
- Strong communication skills, coupled with effective management capabilities and focus on our human resources and customers
- Excellent technology and MS Office skills
- Authentic leadership reinforcing key KPIs, business mandates and targets, while being an integral part of our executive team
- You are an energetic, intuitive team player with critical thinking capabilities
