- This role will be responsible for supporting the Internal Group Accounting leadership in the development and implementation of standardized Group accounting policies and processes as well as supervision of the daily operation of the Group Accounting Reporting Team.

**WHAT YOU WILL DO**:

- Monitor the daily performance of the North American Reporting team of the Internal Group Accounting Function and communicate progress to the Group Accounting Manager and Group Director - Internal Accounting.
- Reviews internal financial statements to ensure accuracy.
- Work with the External Reporting Team in the preparation of financial statement note disclosures and ad hoc reporting requirements.
- Work closely with the Group Accounting Manager to ensure that deadlines for the submission of month end, quarter end and year end results is submitted on time.
- Ensure that document preparation and retention by all members of the team is in accordance with Group practices.
- Monitor compliance with ICFR controls which are the responsibility of the Reporting Team.
- Provides support and information for internal and external audits.
- Provides leadership to team members and peers through collaboration.
- Identify unusual accounting transactions and resolution of their treatment with support from the Group Accounting team.
- Supervise and mentor direct reports, including assigning work, supporting development, leading employee performance reviews, etc.
- Responsible for the training of new-hires and for evaluating the performance of and providing feedback to your team.
- Assist in the development and implementation of NFI Group Accounting standard processes.
- Work with Group Accounting Manager to coordinate resource allocation across Group Accounting initiatives.
- Support all Group Accounting initiatives as required.
- Leading continuous improvement and provide direction to the Finance team through Lean principles.

**WHAT YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL**:

- Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) Designation.
- 1-2 years post Accountancy Designation Qualification.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a financial role. Experience in a supervisory role is an advantage.
- Good working knowledge of IFRS and GAAP.
- Ability to maintain positive working relationships and communication with internal and external customers and all levels of the organization.
- Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work with mínimal supervision and initiative to seek improvements.
- Strong analytical skill with capabilities to work within a fast - paced team
- oriented environment.
- Experience with ERP systems and databases (Oracle preferred).

Less than 5% travel.
