Dematic Limited is seeking an immediate Field Service Technician based near Mississauga, ON. Reporting to the Customer Service Manager, this role is responsible for servicing, repairing, and providing maintenance training for installed Dematic systems and equipment.

As the Dematic representative at the customer's facility, this position carries significant responsibility for maintaining customer goodwill toward Dematic. The primary objective is to maximize the availability of Dematic systems for customer use and ensure customer satisfaction with their Dematic system and equipment.

This position will serve as our electrical technician authority on all products installed at the specific customer job site. The employee will work on material handling systems, including but not limited to Automatic Guided Vehicles (AGV), Automated Storage and Retrieval Systems (AS/RS), Autonomous Mobile Robots (AMRs) systems. Overtime and occasional weekend work may be required.

**Tasks and Qualifications**:
**This is What You Will do in This Role**:

- Consult with site manager and other Dematic engineering regarding maintenance problems, design deficiencies, and operational problems
- Diagnose and implement corrective action to problems with Dematic and other equipment
- Practice safe work habits and abiding by safety rules in accordance with customer and Dematic policies
- Log all service work performed, recording downtime during repair and accounting for equipment service requests
- Conduct scheduled maintenance, corrective maintenance, scheduled repairs and emergency repairs
- Assist with the training of new employees and temporaries assigned to their work area
- Ability to understand and follow the electrical codes and specifications subscribed to by Dematic
- I nterpret electrical blueprints and schematics, recommending engineering changes as necessary
- Install electrical apparatus (i.e.: switches, termination boxes, lights, photocells, control enclosures, etc.)
- Perform electrical checkout and product testing on all products before shipment to insure 100% accuracy
- Follow lock out/tag out procedures as needed to insure safe work practices
- Operate forklifts and or cranes as required by assignment
- Ascend or descend ladders, scaffolding and the like with agility
- Lift up to 50 lbs. occasionally, and or up to 25 lbs. frequently
- Assist Dematic parts team with identifying the parts number

**What We are Looking For**:

- Trade school graduate or two-year Associate ’s degree in a mechanical, electrical, or electro-mechanical technician program. Bachelor's degree in engineering preferred.
- Knowledge of PLCs, Allen Bradley and Siemens. Working experience with troubleshooting Programable Logistic Controllers ( PLC ) is required.
- Skills including a balance of Electronics, Electrical and some Mechanical skills with an emphasis on Controls
- Troubleshooting skills with PLC controls, servos, and other discrete electrical control components
- Experience communicating with the customer
- Experience working with different teams and disciplines
- Verbal and written English communication skills
