Translator (English to Japanese)

We are currently recruiting full-time/part-time English-to-Japanese translators/reviewers, who will enjoy the comfort of working from home, with a mandate to attend an online virtual office to facilitate communication.

Translators convey meaning in written text from one language into another.

**Responsibilities**:

- Translating content in a variety of sectors in a timely manner and in accordance with our quality standards
- Reviewing/proofreading the work of other translators
- Machine translation post editing
- Occasionally subtitling and digital marketing (transcreation, SEO, etc.)
- Using Computer Assisted Translation (CAT) tools such as Trados Studio
- Work closely with the client, team members and project managers as required for specific projects or tasks

**Qualifications, Skills & Experiences**:

- Love reading and writing, have strong interest in foreign language (s), willingness to learn, curiosity, responsibility, patience and creativity
- Bachelor's degree
- 2 years of full-time professional experience in translation (especially in IT, marketing, patent, medical fields) would be an asset
- Degree in translations, linguistics or language studies with significant translation studies from a recognized institution or higher education would be an asset
- Ability to understand the source language in depth with good knowledge of the grammar
- Native level of target language and mastery of the word usage
- A certification of/or affiliation with a professional translation association (CTTIC, ATA, ITI, etc.) would be an asset
- Attention to detail and time management skills
- The ability to work under pressure and to deadlines
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
- Good knowledge of translation software such as Trados Studio would be an asset

**Job Types**: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent
Part-time hours: 20 - 40 per week

**Salary**: $23.00-$28.00 per hour
