**The opportunity**:
The University of Manitoba Provost Office is looking for a Communications Coordinator. This position is responsible for strategically deploying communications, content and special events related to the Provost’s priorities to wide audiences, including faculty members, students, staff and members of the community. The Communications Coordinator is also responsible for digital content creation and coordination across diverse portfolios, ensures alignment of plans and tactics with MCO and communication teams across the various Vice-Provost portfolios, regularly monitors analytics to determine effectiveness of tactics, makes recommendations on new or revised tactics as required, and coordinates public relations/events on behalf of the Office of the Provost.

**The qualifications and experience we’re looking for**:

- An undergraduate degree in communications, marketing or other related specialization required.
- Minimum 2 years copywriting (either in-house or agency) experience required.
- Experience working with web Content Management Systems with previous experience building pages required (Drupal, SharePoint Online, etc.) is required.
- Knowledge of digital processes, techniques and technologies is required.
- Experience coordinating concurrent projects and juggling multiple priorities is required.
- An acceptable equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
- Exceptional writing and editing skills are required.
- Proficiency with software such as Adobe Creative Suite, online work management software and web content management systems is required.
- Proven ability to communicate in written and verbal form is required.
- Ability to communicate using both executive and academic writing styles is required.
- Ability to work under pressure and organize and prioritize work to meet firm deadlines required.
- Ability to understand complex environments and work effectively in both informal and highly official settings required.
- Ability to exercise tact, diplomacy and develop strong interpersonal connections with all levels of faculty, staff, students, senior leadership and the general public required.
- Satisfactory work record, including satisfactory attendance and punctuality, is required.
