This course will involve students in the examination the relationship between public policy and urban form. In a seminar/lecture format students will engage with the range of plans, policies, guidelines and practices that are the context for the processes that characterize contemporary city building. During the term, students will have opportunities to engage with the dynamics surrounding growth that is occurring in this context through: in class lectures; directed reading and research; meetings with individuals involved in proposing and planning for development; attendance at public meetings; and individual or group seminar/presentations to the on relevant selected topics.

L0101 - Monday 6:00pm - 9:00pm

**Sessional dates of appointment**: January 1, 2024 - April 30, 2024

**Estimate of the course enrolment**: Approximately 16 students per section

**Salary**:Sessional Lecturer I - $9,457.90; Sessional Lecturer I Long Term - $9,930.79; Sessional Lecturer II - $10,121.77; Sessional Lecturer II Long Term - $10,326.62; Sessional Lecturer III - $10,362.76; Sessional Lecturer III Long Term - $10,570.02 (inclusive of vacation pay)

Please note that should rates stipulated in the collective agreement vary from rates stated in this posting, the rates stated in the collective agreement shall prevail.

**Minimum Qualifications**:M.Arch or MUD degree or professional urban design experience preferred. We are seeking applicants with a proven record of teaching urban design and planning course content at the graduate-level. A knowledge of contemporary urban design and planning pedagogy and the current state of the disciplines is desirable.

**Preferred Qualifications**:An understanding of both urban design and the Toronto/GTAH regulatory contexts.

**Description of Duties**: Preparation and delivery of course material; managing digital teaching materials, supervision of teaching assistants; preparation and delivery of assignments, tests, final examinations, and deferred final examinations; marking of student work, submission of grades, dealing with student enquiries, appeals and petitions, and student contact hours.
