**Course description**: This course examines the thriller as a cinema of sensation and cognition, tracing the global proliferation of this genre and its aesthetic qualities, political implications, and cultural impacts.

**Estimated course enrolment**: 200 students

**Class schedule**: Monday 15:00 - 18:00

**Salary**:
Sessional Lecturer I: $9,457.90

Sessional Lecturer I, Long Term: $9,930.79

Sessional Lecturer II: $10,121.77

Sessional Lecturer III: $10,362.76

**Minimum qualifications**:

- MA or PhD in Film/Cinema
- At least 5 years of experience teaching cinema at the university level, with a concentration on film history, theory, practice, and/or analysis.
- At least 5 years of experience marking undergraduate essays in cinema.
- Evidence of recent teaching effectiveness.
- Ability to teach online if public health issues require.

**Preferred qualifications**:

- Demonstrated expertise in thrilling media and genres.
