**RECEPTIONIST**

- **The Organizations**_
- Mount Carmel Retirement Residence_ in St Catharines Ontario is a 47-bed retirement home, licensed under the Retirement Homes Regulatory Authority (RHRA) of Ontario. For over 700 years the Carmelites have believed that “All is possible with God”. The Carmelite Sisters have been in Canada since 1913; they are a contemplative apostolic congregation of Pontifical Rite, combining prayer life with an active apostolate. The Sisters live a simple gospel lifestyle sharing all things in community.
- Canadian Religious Stewardship_ (CRS) is a not for profit charitable organization established by Catholic Religious Institutes from across Canada. CRS is assisting the Carmelite Sisters in St Catharines with their need for a Receptionist.
- **The Position**_

While the majority of the Receptionist’s responsibilities are within regular business hours there may be times where she/he is called upon outside of these.

This position offers a six-month contract, Monday through Friday.
- **Requirements**_
- Five years of office experience including a diploma in business administration or equivalent
- Experience working with seniors
- Criminal records check with vulnerable sector screening
- **Skills, Abilities, and Knowledge**_
- Exceptional planning, time management and organizational skills with strong attention to detail
- Intermediate knowledge of MS Office suite (Word, Excel)
- Ability to take initiative and problem solve
- Work effectively and independently with mínimal supervision
- Manage multiple parallel activities
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Advanced listening and facilitation skills
- Outstanding relationship building skills
- Excellent judgement in serving the needs of the Sisters and residents including diplomacy in dealing with sensitive and confidential information
- **Responsibilities**_
- Answering telephone, greeting visitors and responding to inquiries in person and by phone; triaging to the appropriate department
- Processing accounts payables, bank deposits and accounts receivables
- Collecting, opening and distributing mail
- Maintaining filing including correspondence, office records and invoicing
- Providing general administrative support to the Sisters and the Administrator
- Addressing Sisters, resident or family member concerns promptly, taking appropriate action within the scope of authority, and escalating issues to the Administrator when necessary.
- Maintaining inventory and order office supplies
- Additional duties as delegated by the Administrator
