Frontier School Division is geographically the largest school division in Manitoba with 41 schools in 39 northern and remote communities. Frontier School Division is committed to success for all learners through a focus upon student outcomes, community-based direction for schools, and a partnership approach amongst staff, parents, and the community.

Reporting to the Assistant Superintendent, Student Services/Wellness, this position will oversee the delivery of counselling services throughout the Division and, through Jordan’s Principle, will coordinate the delivery of mental wellness services.

**Qualifications**:

- A lifelong learner, with a Masters’ degree in education, social work, psychology or related discipline, or in the process of obtaining a Masters’ degree
- Valid Manitoba Teacher or Clinician Certification (or eligibility for)
- In good standing with appropriate licensing body required, if applicable
- Minimum 5 years of relevant supervisory experience
- A thorough understanding of student service protocols and procedures, preferred
- Previous experience with individual and group counselling and crisis intervention
- Experience supporting Indigenous youth and or community, and an understanding of Indigenous ways of Knowing, Being, Learning and Doing.
- In-depth knowledge of Indigenous history, truth and reconciliation calls to action, Indigenous knowledge systems, models, and methodologies
- Knowledge and understanding of Jordan’s Principle.
- An excellent communicator with strong interpersonal, conflict resolution and community relations skills.
- Ability to identify, source and access community supports and resources/agencies
- Knowledge of relevant legislation such as the Mental Health Act, CFS Act, Vulnerable Persons Legislation, etc.
- Demonstrated experience in proposal writing
- Positive, energetic and self-directed
- Demonstrated experience in facilitation and organization of education and training in group or public forums
- Ability to travel overnight and work flexible hours as necessary
- Valid Manitoba driver’s license and ability to travel extensively throughout the Division and province
