Associate Portfolio Manager/Portfolio Manager, Fundamental Equities
- IMCO is looking for a highly motivated Associate Portfolio Manager/Portfolio Manager to join our team_

Reporting to the Managing Director, Fundamental Equities, the Associate Portfolio Manager/Portfolio Manager, Fundamental Equities will be responsible for the evaluation, diligence and execution of prospective Fundamental+ as well as other public markets investment opportunities. Fundamental+ investments are a subset of the Fundamental Equities strategy and span across public and private markets and are negotiated or “high engagement” opportunities to support M&A, sponsor growth initiatives and transition stakeholders. The Associate Portfolio Manager/Portfolio Manager will provide thoughtful recommendations that include industry overviews, written investment rationales and due diligence reviews with a key focus of supporting the management of significant, concentrated investments in listed and private companies. As a key leader on this team, you will play a role in developing and mentoring the direct investments team and support the build-out of key infrastructure elements for our expanding platform.

As an Associate Portfolio Manager/Portfolio Manager, You Will be Responsible For:
- Leading and supporting the underwriting process for new Fundamental+ and public market opportunities, including (i) detailed financial and business modelling; (ii) preparing detailed diligence of investment opportunities; (iii) preparing investment memos; and (iii) collaboration with other team members on investment research.- Sourcing, researching, recommending, and managing global investment opportunities in public and private markets.- Supporting the on-going development, implementation, and execution of the Fundamental Equity global strategy within Public Equities.- Participating in the analysis and evaluation of investment opportunities aligned to corporate strategy- Supporting the management of the Fundamental Equity portion of the Public Equities portfolio relative to key benchmarks with a high attention to detail.- Working and collaborating on proposals to enhance risk-adjusted performance of the overall portfolio considering all aspects of portfolio management to ensure effective management of costs, risks and returns.- Supporting the team’s efforts to execute the strategy, and providing day-to-day direction, guidance and mentoring to junior staff.- Collaborating with Finance, Investment Operations & Accounting, and other Investment professionals, on issues related to financial accounting and reporting of IMCO’s Public Equities investments.- Supporting the build out of investment performance commentaries for internal and external distribution, including monthly or quarterly meetings and Investment Committee meetings, as well as annual corporate financial reporting

What do you need to succeed?- Minimum of 4-5 years of investments industry experience. Backgrounds in private equity, consulting, investment banking and corporate development will be considered.- Undergraduate degree in Finance, Business or a related field is required. A graduate degree (e.g., MBA) and/or a professional designation (e.g. CFA, AACI) is an asset.- Knowledge of Public Equities markets with hands-on transactional experience (Direct experience executing or advising structured, illiquid and/or negotiated public and private markets investments preferred)- Strong verbal and written communication skills required to exchange complex information and to present information, as well to build key working relationships- Self-starting and ability to identify and analyze complex investment opportunities- Strong familiarity with accounting, tax, legal and strategic considerations relevant to complex international transactions- Excellent quantitative, analytical, financial modelling, problem solving and organizational skills- Understanding of risk management principles and practices- Ability to cultivate partnerships and work collaboratively in a team environment with both internal and external resources- Commitment to develop, train and mentor junior team membe
