**Job description**

**Medical Office Administrator position**:
We are currently looking for a professional, patient-centred individual with excellent interpersonal and communication skills to join our team in our Family Practice medical office.

The position will include, but is not limited to:
Administrative work including: extensive computer-based EMR work, fast typing skills, copying, faxing, dealing with online and mail based correspondence, and data entry.
Ordering, stocking, and distribution of office and medical supplies.
Assisting the office manager as needed with any additional administrative work.
**Job Prerequisites**:
University or College degree; diploma in Medical Office Assistant preferred
Previous experience as a Medical Office Assistant/Medical Secretary in a busy, fast-paced medical office is preferred.

Prior knowledge of medical terminology is an asset.
The ability to provide patient-centred, compassionate care is mandatory in our office.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Excellent customer service skills.
Excellent attention to detail.
Ability to work in a fast paced family practice environment, while maintaining a good attitude.
Excellent work ethic/reliability.
Good knowledge of medical ethics
Willingness to learn and adapt to changes, quick to learn new skills, versatile, team-based applicants preferred.
Ability to work well individually, as well as in a team-based environment.
Experience with electronic medical records (EMR), preferably Telus Practice Solutions EMR (or willingness to learn).
Experience with SR Fax (or willingness to learn).
Ability to work flexible hours as needed.

**Job Type**:
Approximately 20-25 hours weekly, permanent position
