The Opportunity
Reporting to the HR Lead, the HR & Benefits Advisor will support and elevate the Company’s HR & Benefit functions across Canada and the US. This is an exciting opportunity to expand your knowledge in a wide range of HR and Benefits functions across North America
Your Impact
Partnering with the HR Lead, you will develop and manage HR programs, services and strategies for 50+ employees. You will build and maintain genuine working relationships within the organization and strive to exceed expectations on partnership with employees, leaders and external partners.

**Human Resources Accountabilities**:

- Contribute to the development and implementation of HR policies, programs, procedures, and guidelines that align with corporate objectives
- Become a culture champion by getting to know the people and business and identify opportunities to team build and foster the culture we aim to create
- Proactively identify areas for process improvement and propose innovative solutions to enhance and streamline HR operations
- Offer expert advice and support to management and employees on employee relations issues, policies, and procedures
- Deliver onboarding and orientation to new team members. Prepare and send new hire welcome packages through our two systems, Collage and Gusto
- Maintain accuracy of our two HRIS systems and employee files. Liaise with Payroll and Accounting on any employee changes and/or updates
- Execute our Performance Management program
- Coordinate employee learning and development opportunities
- Prepare employment contracts, offer letters and other employment related documents
- Maintain and enhance Employee Handbook keeping policies up to date with the changing legislative environment
- Collaborate with hiring managers on recruitment strategies, organizational structure and staffing levels & conduct full-cycle recruitment in partnership with our leaders
- Complete surveys (ex: government or salary surveys)
- Oversee the offboarding process, exit interviews and trend/data analysis
- Support any conflict resolution or workplace investigations as needed
- Liaise with vendors and service providers to ensure efficient and cost-effective acquisition of technology purchases
- Oversee invoice management for office management related invoices

**Benefit Accountabilities**:

- Primary point of contact for employees regarding benefit-related inquiries
- Enroll new hires into company benefits through our HRIS systems (Collage and Gusto)
- Optimize and coordinate with benefits brokers and providers
- Coordinate benefits information sessions and related training to equip employees with key information
- Manage changes, terminations, for the Company’s Group Benefits such as health and dental, vision, health spending account, Life and AD&D plans
- Oversee and maintain RRSP and matching program
- Assist Payroll in WCB claims
- Navigate STD/LTD cases effectively including return-to-work planning in conjunction with leadership
- Ensure compliance and alignment with relevant legislation, regulations and policies

Your Experience, Skills & Education
- Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in HR and or Benefits or related experience
- Education in Human Resources, Business or Organizational Development or equivalent or a related field
- Knowledgeable in US and Canadian benefits preferred
- Experience with HRIS systems
- HR certification is an asset (ex: CHRP)
- General knowledge of Canadian (AB & ON) and US laws and employment standards
- Ability to work in a collaborative, team environment as well as independently
- Proven organizational, communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
- Proven ability to maintain a high degree of data and business process quality and integrity
- Thrive in an entrepreneurial, lean organization, where decisions are made quickly
- Demonstrated aptitude for learning new technologies is an asset
