**Duties**:

- Develop and create innovative menus that meet the needs and preferences of our customers
- Oversee all food preparation activities to ensure high-quality and consistent dishes
- In conjunction with the Executive Director, manage a regular team of 8 Support Services team members (Dietary, Housekeeping and Chef) as well as casuals, including hiring, training, evaluation and some scheduling
- Monitor and maintain inventory levels and order supplies as needed
- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment ensuring compliance with all food safety and sanitation regulations
- Collaborate with other departments to coordinate special events and catering services
- Stay updated on industry trends and incorporate new techniques and ingredients into menu offerings

Qualifications:

- Proven experience as an Executive Chef or similar role in a high-volume establishment Red Seal training preferred
- In-depth knowledge of culinary techniques and practices
- Knowledge of health care dietary and housekeeping best practices
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire a team
- Understanding of act and regulations as it pertains to food service in a residential care and or assisted living facility in BC.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work well under pressure when the day-to-day regular activities are altered without notice due to unforeseen situations.
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices
- Familiarity with kitchen equipment and utensils
- Diploma in Nutritional and Food Management along with Knowledge of Audits and More is an asset

**Salary**: From $33.00 per hour

Expected hours: 37.50 per week
