**Job Summary**
As part of the Group Risk Management team, the Associate Director, Environmental & Social Risk, Disclosure, Reporting & Communication will support the management, preparation, enhancement, governance, and delivery of external ESG risk disclosures and internal ESG risk reporting.
**What is the opportunity?**
As part of the Group Risk Management team, the Associate Director, Environmental & Social Risk, Disclosure, Reporting & Communication will support the management, preparation, enhancement, governance, and delivery of external ESG risk disclosures and internal ESG risk reporting.
**What will you do?**
- Support the management, preparation, enhancement, governance, and delivery of ESG risk disclosures, including GRM owned aspects of RBC’s ESG Report and the ESG-related Risk Management disclosure in RBC’s Financial Reports to Shareholders.
- Liaise with internal risk management partners to review ESG-related risk management activities for inclusion in external ESG Risk reporting.
- Execute controls over ESG risk-related disclosures to meet increasing regulatory requirements and ensure alignment with Enterprise ESG Disclosure Policy and Control Framework.
- Prepare supported responses to questions and comments on E&S disclosures from key stakeholder groups (e.g. legal, finance and audit)
- Perform gap analysis of compliance with ESG disclosure requirements
- Perform peer analysis and research to gauge RBC’s disclosure strategy against best practices and follow through with recommendations and implementation of improvements
- Research future developments in ESG-related disclosures to inform the prioritization of future enhancements to ESG practices and related disclosures
- Research to support defining ESG risk assessment, including risk impacts, risk appetite, limits, and restrictions.
- Partner with internal stakeholders to contribute to initiatives across ESG Risk, GRM, Finance, Strategy and Regions.
**What do you need to succeed?**
**Must-have**
- 5+ years of related experience with in-depth knowledge in any of the following disciplines: risk management, financial reporting, compliance, or sustainability
- Finance or risk management certification/degree
- Sound knowledge of internal controls, risk management and/or compliance methodologies
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate complex topics effectively to external stakeholders and internal senior management and reviewers (e.g. legal, finance, audit).
- Commitment to quality, accuracy, and timeliness with strong attention to details. Excellent organizational skills and capability to effectively manage multiple time-sensitive priorities while meeting timelines.
- A proactive self-starting mindset who is able to handle pressure effectively, collaborate effectively with individuals and teams across the enterprise, and has experience working with senior management teams.
- Ability to navigate ambiguity and remain flexible while staying focused on delivering value.
**Nice-to-have**
- Business and ESG experience is preferred.
