Role Overview
Reporting to the Director of Operations, the Spare Parts Supervisor will organize and coordinate all service part requirements in accordance with the service and project needs. The incumbent will manage the vendor relationship; execute strategic service contracts and ensuring that timelines and project budget goals are met while delivering the Eclipse Vision and the Eclipse Entrepreneurial Culture
The Spare Parts Supervisor job responsibilities may include but are not limited to:
**Technical**:
- Create, maintain and continuously improve spare part process
- Actively engage with engineering groups to ensure a proactive approach to spare part ordering and costing
- Establish and maintain risk registry and actively flag parts within the design process
- Utilize AI for competitive pricing and decision making
- Proactively recognize issues, initiate action, assist in problem solving and evaluate results on major issues
- Maintain profitability in the Eclipse service department
**Leadership**:
- Promote positive relations between departments and with partners, customers, vendors, and distributors
- Recommend and administer policies and procedures to enhance operations which support continuous improvement initiatives
- Enforce Eclipse policies throughout the department including Human Resources, Safety and Environmental
- Conduct employee Performance Reviews when required
- Recommend Eclipse Database improvements on an ongoing basis to increase efficiency throughout the company
- Recruit, train, supervise, and evaluate department staff. Work with Human Resources and abide to Employment Standards Act and the Eclipse Employee Handbook
- Review and approve department personnel expense reports
- Continuously resource new innovative solutions for corporate competitiveness
- Ensure concepts meet Eclipse Automation quality, safety and reliability standards
- Promote Personal Development and Safe work practices, working environment and improve department operations
- Adhere to the Eclipse Project Operating Policy
- Complete other duties and projects as assigned
- Maintain good corporate citizen role in support of the Eclipse corporate Vision and confidentiality ensuring that all business activities are performed with the highest ethical standards and in compliance with the Eclipse Automation Inc. Conduct Code
**Project Execution**:
- Liaise with engineering and operation teams to develop spare part plans for all projects
- Update project completion with respect to weekly confirmation of critical milestones, labour hours and percent complete on project
- Ensure Scheduled milestones are met
- Update Open Issues List as required
- Notify the appropriate departments if milestones cannot be met
- Delegation of duties of the project to team members
- Ensure that Company ISO Standards are followed
- Respond to CAR’s issued to the department
- Foster the development of a culture reflective of the core values of the business
**Travel**:
- Expectation of travel to vendor/supplier locations up to 30% of time could be anticipated, however may be exceeded in exceptional circumstances to meet project needs
**Qualifications**:Education**:
- Has successfully completed either a University Degree or College Diploma in Mechanical/Electrical/ Engineering / Robotics Automation Technology or have a Certificate of Qualification for a Machine Tool Builder and Integrator
- Knowledge in SolidWorks and AutoCad would be an asset
**Experience**:
- 10+ years’ work experience in the custom automation industry
