**Hours of Work**:From 20 to 30 hours per week, with potential to become a full-time position; flexible hours.

**Compensation**:Competitive salary and benefits package within the not-for-profit sector.

**Compensation**:$70,000 - 80,000 per year based on full-time, will be prorated based on hours per week worked.

**Schedule**:Hours and days worked to be mutually agreed upon.

**Job Type**: Permanent part-time

**Location**:Remote, located in the National Capital Region of Ottawa, ON, with expectation to meet at least twice per month in Ottawa.

**Travel Requirements**:Some travel is required, but not extensive.

**Expected Start Date**: Immediately

In this newly created remote position as part-time **Bilingual Communications and Marketing Specialist**, you will have a tremendous opportunity to make a valuable contribution to the Association by making the role rewarding and challenging in an extremely flexible work environment. Reporting to the President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO), as the **Bilingual Communications and Marketing Specialist**, you will define and deliver on the strategic communication and marketing goals of the Association to raise the profile and awareness of the Association to our key target audiences.

**RESPONSIBILITIES**:
**Strategic Communications and Marketing**
- Ensures all communications and marketing initiatives are strategic in nature, well planned and executed, completed on time and within budget.
- Research and explore various communications channels to select the most appropriate and effective method to ensure messaging clarity and consistency to maximize engagement through delivery of the Association’s value proposition.
- Composes, edits creative and relevant content for key messaging (letters, newsletter, annual report, etc.) that targets a variety of audiences (members, affiliate members, partners, government, etc.).
- Establishes and documents guidelines, processes, and procedures for the Association’s communication strategy in both official languages based on best practices for internal and external communications.
- Suggests webinars or training events in line with members’ and business partners’ needs

**Social Media, Web Site, Publications, AI**:

- Maintains a pulse on leading trends in the areas of communications, marketing, and social media.
- Monitors industry news, developments in government, impactful member stories and issues of importance to the Association.
- Leads the Association’s social media strategy to monitor, build and develop its presence through regular engagement with members, affiliate members and partners.
- Creates, implements, and executes a content calendar for social media, web site, newsletter, and events.
- Ensures web site content evolves to remain informative, relevant, and current.
- Explores use of AI.

**Raise the Association’s Profile**:

- Raise public, government, educational institutions and member/affiliate member/partner awareness of the Association’s programs, offerings, and services through impactful designed campaigns.
- Develops promotional materials and activities to support the annual membership renewal campaign, conferences, meetings, and other initiatives.

**Other**:

- Other tasks as assigned.

**QUALIFICATIONS**:

- University degree or equivalent in communications, marketing, or related discipline.
- More than 10 years of practical experience in three or more key areas of communications, including marketing and social media, public and media relations, advertising, promotion.
- Sound knowledge of social media vehicles (LinkedIn, Twitter, Instagram, Canva, etc.) and other web-based technologies (MailChimp, Survey Monkey, Google Analytics, MS Office, Word Press, Adobe, etc.).
- Outstanding communication skills, written and verbal in both official languages.
- Exceptional attention to detail and meticulous editorial eye for consistent messaging, branding and professionalism.
- Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Excellent organizational skills with a proven ability to tackle multiple projects concurrently.
- Preference will be given to work experience in the not-for-profit sector preferred.
