We are hiring a VP of Finance to join our growing team Reporting to the CFO, you will be directly responsible for providing leadership and coordination of company financial planning, debt financing, and budget management functions to ensure that company accounting procedures and reporting conform to generally accepted accounting principles. As a leader in high-growth environments, you will bring your expertise to AcuityAds, ensuring our organizational structure remains both stable and sustainable as we evolve into our next chapter of growth.
**What You Will Do**:

- Oversee the operations of the accounting and finance department, including the design of an organizational structure adequate for achieving the department's goals and objectives
- Maintain the chart of accounts, an orderly accounting filing system, and a system of controls over accounting transactions
- Develop, improve and issue timely monthly, quarterly, annually financial records for CFO and CEO
- Partner with senior management to build financial discipline throughout the organization and enable strong performance against strategic, financial, and operational goals
- Provide financial analysis tools to evaluate special projects, programs, capital expenditures, etc. when necessary
- Prepare required public company regulatory financial reports
- Develop, test and implement internal controls to assess design and operating effectiveness of internal control structure in accordance with current governance, risk and compliance requirements
- Develop performance measures that support the company's strategic direction
- Streamline policies and procedures by way of systems that will improve the overall operation and effectiveness of the company
- Continual improvement of the budgeting process through educating team members on financial issues impacting department budgets
- Coordinate the preparation of the corporate annual report
- Recommend benchmarks against which to measure the performance of company operations
- Calculate and issue financial and operating metrics
- Manage the production of the annual budget and forecasts
- Calculate variances from the budget and report significant issues to management
- Coordinate the provision of information to external auditors for the annual audit

**What You Will Need**:

- University degree in Accounting, Business, or Finance
- CA, CPA designation is mandatory
- Accounting experience for both Canadian and US companies
- Strong understanding of Canadian and US tax systems
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience within a public company
- Minimum 5 years of liaising with The Toronto Stock Exchange
- Effective leadership skills, with a strong focus on mentoring and motivation an employee base of professionals
- Understanding of SOX compliance and regulations
- Able to identify key issues; creatively and strategically overcome internal and external challenges or obstacles
- Strong knowledge of fiscal management and responsibility, business finance, capital funding, contracts, and partnerships
- Effective attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy
- High level of integrity, confidentially, and accountability
- Sound analytical thinking, planning, prioritization, and execution skills
- A well-defined sense of diplomacy, including solid negotiation, conflict resolution, and people management skills
- Experience creating and managing budgets for a large, distributed organization
- Able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing
