Look no further We are excited to announce an opportunity to join our team as a Program Manager** for our **Second Stage Transitional Housing New Build Project (Westshore).**
We are a non-profit charity, providing emergency shelter, counselling and support services for women of all ages, with or without children, fleeing from intimate partner violence and abuse. We are a vibrant, collaborative community looking for exceptional people to help us grow as we work towards our mission of ending intimate partner violence.
**Job Summary**
Following the philosophy, mission and values of the Society, this position is responsible for the overall operations and staff of the Second Stage and Short Stay Transitional Housing programs. This position is responsible for the quality and safety of services and the facilities and for maintaining positive relationships within the community.
**KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**- Oversees the Second Stage and Short Stay Transitional Housing assigned to the position’s portfolio and provide support to the management team for other programs in their absence. Ensures effective program and service delivery consistent with the Society’s mandate, policies, legal, contractual, and budgetary requirements.
- Responsible for monitoring and the evaluation of existing program areas, as well as recommendations for the development of new programs. Participates as a member of the Leadership Team in developing long-range and strategic plans, assessing, and resolving operational issues and policies.
- Oversees the scheduling of program staff. In consultation with HR Manager and the Senior Program Manager, is responsible for all human resource and labour relations activities including hiring, training, supervision, performance appraisal, and discipline.
- Provides active supervision to program staff, including support, information, training, and case consultation. Monitors the service delivery of staff to ensure a high level of consistency and quality of service, suitability of activities, and a high level of caring.
- With the Senior Program Manager and the Leadership Team plans, implements, and evaluates the programs and their outcomes. In collaboration with r and program staff, establishes the needs and goals of current and future programs under their supervision.
- Performs other related duties as required.
- Participate in the management on-call rotation.
- Prepares reports, conducts special studies, makes presentations as required. Engages in ongoing education on the issue of violence and abuse against women and children, management studies and human resource/labour relations issues.
- Maintains effective relationships with government officials, volunteers, and community groups. Coordinate with community organizations for service provision, resolve program delivery issues, exchange program information. May represent the agency at community and fundraising events or other official functions as directed.
- Participates in various internal and external committees, working groups, associations. Attend Board meeting and other Board functions as required.
- Ensures development and implementation of safety protocols and procedures, including fire drills, to ensure the safety of residents and staff. Has oversight of the facility to ensure compliance with all safety regulations and standards. Maintain accurate records of safety inspections and drills.
- Accounts for the monitoring and maintaining inventory of supplies and other household requirements, including management of goods donations as required. Ensures purchases are within an approved budget limit.
- Oversees all short and long-term maintenance and repair projects for building and grounds. Coordinates with property management firm, contractors, suppliers, and independent workers
**QUALIFICATIONS**
University degree in a discipline related to the position with a focus on operational/administrative management, planning, organizing, human resources, communications, and counselling skills.
The position requires a thorough knowledge of the issue of violence and abuse against women and children from an intersectional feminist perspective, extensive program development and supervision experience in addition to management experience in a unionized environment and a commitment to ongoing education and development.
Completion of a university degree in a discipline relevant to agency requirements or equivalent, with a focus on operational/administrative management, planning, organizing, human resources, communications, and counselling skills.
