**About Al Huda Elementary School** **(AHES)**: Al Huda Elementary School (AHES) is a private Islamic school established in Mississauga, ON in 2008. We offer a fully integrated educational program from JK/SK (Casa) to Grade 8, combining authentic Islamic knowledge and values with the Ontario Elementary School Curriculum under the supervision of an experienced leadership team. In addition to a strong literacy and numeracy program, AHES features a fully developed Montessori program, an integrated Hifdh program, several school committees, and clubs to further enrich the student’s learning experience within a custom-built school campus.

This year, AHES has expanded its educational program by launching **Al Huda Secondary School (AHSS) **Grade 9, thereby catering to the growing need for Secondary School courses in an Islamic learning environment.

**About the role**: We are seeking a **Vice-Principal Secondary School **who shares our vision for Islamic Education and has knowledge of the Ontario Curriculum to join our school leadership team for the 2024-2025 school year. The Vice-Principal Secondary School plays a key role in supporting the vision and mission of AHSS.

**Responsibilities**:

- Leadership and Administration:_
- Collaborate with the Principal to implement the school's vision, mission, and educational goals.
- Assist the Principal in the overall administration and management of the school, including coordinating and overseeing daily operations.
- Assist in the development and execution of school policies, procedures, and programs in line with educational standards.
- Developing and administering the general school routine, and coordinating all activities within the school building.
- Provide guidance and support to teachers through mentorship and coaching.
- Promote a positive and Islamic school culture that emphasizes respect, inclusivity, and high expectations for all members of the school community.
- Student Development and Support:_
- Monitor and address student behaviour and disciplinary issues, fostering a safe and inclusive environment conducive to learning and escalating more serious issues to the principal.
- Foster positive relationships with parents and guardians through effective communication.
- Supervise the instructional programs of the school, evaluating lesson plans and observing classes (teaching, as duties allow) regularly to encourage the use of a variety of instructional strategies and materials consistent with research on learning and child growth and development.
- Curriculum and Instruction: _
- Assist in curriculum development, alignment, and implementation to ensure educational standards are met.
- Observe classroom instruction and provide constructive feedback to teachers, promoting continuous improvement in teaching methodologies.
- Professional Development:_
- Provide mentoring and professional growth opportunities for teachers and staff.
- Stay updated on educational trends, research, and best practices to enhance the overall quality of education at the school.

**Skills & Qualification**:

- Master's degree in Educational Leadership, School Administration, or a related field
- Sound knowledge of Islamic values
- Commitment to the vision, mission and purpose of Al Huda Secondary School
- Previous local experience in an educational leadership role or administrative capacity
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse groups of students, parents, and staff
- In-depth knowledge of the elementary education Ontario curriculum, instructional strategies, and assessment practices
- Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities in a fast-paced school environment
