Property Manager

Brampton Caledon Community Living (BCCL), a recognized leader in developmental services and a non-profit organization that supports and empowers people to lead enriched and meaningful lives, is seeking a Property Manager to manage its properties in accordance with its values, policies and procedures and municipal and provincial regulations.
**_ Position Expectations:_**
Reporting to the Directors of Community Living Supports, the Property Manager will:
- Scope, negotiate and manage projects including, but not limited to, building additions, accessibility design, renovations and repairs for properties operated by BCCL;
- Ensure compliance with building and fire codes and other relevant municipal and provincial regulations, including Quality Assurance Measures;
- Identify and repair maintenance needs in consultation with directors and managers, ensure safe, secure, and well-maintained, attractive buildings, grounds and equipment;
- Negotiate and secure competitive pricing and best-value-for-dollar quotes for projects, materials, supplies, or equipment;
- Schedule and monitor the work of contractors; ensure quality workmanship and compliance with contract terms;
- Direct and supervise the handyperson to attend to maintenance and repair needs;
- Maintain a list of prospective projects and an inventory of capital assets and large purchases, equipment, material and supplies; update records as equipment and supplies are acquired, disposed of, transferred, donated or consumed;
- Conduct ongoing, proactive, property maintenance programs; ensure health and safety requirements of BCCL properties; re-certify fire extinguishers, ensure air-conditioning, furnace and water heater maintenance, conduct a safety inspection
- Ensure documents, records and communications are transmitted, filed and safeguarded;
- Monitor expenditures in keeping with established budgets; and,
- Attend to issues and complaints in a timely, effective and professional manner.
**_ Skills and Qualifications:_**
- Advanced College Diploma (3 years) or certificate in Project Management, Property or Facilities management, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Knowledge of the Occupational Health & Safety Act and Regulations, Ontario Building Code and Fire Codes, and Ontario Construction Act and standard forms of contracts.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and web-based service management systems.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, ability to express and professionally present oneself, ability to use tact and sound judgement in all activities and be able to interact with various stakeholders.
- Ability to multi-task and manage conflicting priorities and deadlines effectively with tact and diplomacy.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Strong negotiation and organization skills.
- Self-motivated, and able to work independently.

**_ Must-Have_**:
- An up-to-date, Clear Police Record Check & Vulnerable Sector Check
- Valid Class G driver’s license, current driver’s abstract and reliable car are required.
- Current Standard First Aid/CPR; CPI is required.
- Ability to work flexible hours; which may include days, evenings, and weekends.
- Fluency in French is an asset.
- Must have 2 - 3 years related experience.
