**Your New Role**:
The Purchasing Co-op is responsible for supporting the DECO Purchasing team through various roles and responsibilities. We are looking for an organized and highly motivated individual who wants to make a difference and gain integral experience that will support your development into a strong asset for the Supply Chain Industry.

**As a Purchasing Co-op Student, You Will**:

- Generate and issue purchase orders to suppliers daily
- Communicate effectively with all requisitioning departments and arrange for proper and accurate information exchange between originator and supplier
- Support the Purchasing Team with data consolidation, quote summaries, RFQs, and price adjustments, where required
- File all data, documents, purchase orders, etc. in compliance with DECO Purchasing standards
- Support the Purchasing Team on various projects and cost savings initiatives
- Support the MRO Buyer with stock order replenishment, new stock item creation, inventory accuracy and price adjustments
- Conducts activities in ERP System and other Information Systems to support purchasing
- Ensures ERP pricing modules have been maintained accurately and accordingly
- Communicates effectively with all requisitioning departments, and arranges for proper and accurate information exchanges between originator and suppliers
- Reconciles variances between Purchase Orders and Invoices (Price, Quantity, Inco terms, Terms of Payment)
- Maintains supplier files, purchase prices, price fluctuations and quality records
- Follows and complies with all Operational Procedures and Policies as outlined in the Employee Handbook, Quality and Environmental programs (i.e. TS16949, ISO14001)
- Understands, promotes and lives by Magna’s philosophies and Employee Charter

- Performs other duties as required

SAFETY PERFORMANCE REQUIREMENTS:

- Accepts personal responsibility to plan and conduct their work safely in compliance with the Occupational Health & Safety Act as well as company policies and guidelines
- Responsible for good Housekeeping in your area

**What You Will Need to Succeed**:

- Enrollment or completion of a Supply Chain or Purchasing Diploma/Degree, or relevant Business Degree
- Strong computer skills in all Microsoft Office Applications, experience with ERP Systems such as CMS considered an asset
- Excellent organizational, interpersonal and communication skills
- Good mathematical and problem solving skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to work to meet deadlines and multiple demands
- Ability to uphold confidentiality
- Demonstrates the ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Willingness to travel for training, meetings, and supplier visits
- Availability for on call coverage, as required
- Willingness to work in an environment with exposure to elements such as temperature and noise
