Nature of the work:

- Reporting to the Academic Dean, the Dean of Academic Development is responsible for advancing a strategic academic vision through pedagogical development and innovation.
- The Dean of Academic Development oversees professional/pedagogical development, research and grants, institutional project development, and student success initiatives. The Dean of Academic Development leads and supports the program cycle (development, evaluation, revision, and implementation). The Dean of Academic Development provides leadership and support for the management of a network of communities of practice as well as personnel within the department. The Dean of Academic Development oversees initiatives that generate broad engagement of the Dawson community in the academic and educational development of the College and plays a key role in advancing Dawson College’s position as a leader in academic innovation in Québec and beyond.**Requirements**:

- Qualifications:

- An undergraduate degree in an appropriate specialization and a minimum of six (6) years relevant experience. preferably in post-secondary academic administration.- Conditions:
- Ability to exercise good judgment with excellent analytical skills, critical thinking decision making and problem-solving skills.
- Dynamic academic leadership with demonstrated success in motivating others, managing performance and building cohesive teams.
- Effective team collaboration; work collegially with open-mindedness, flexibility and adaptability.
- Capacity for innovative thinking within an educational milieu.
- Capacity to set and achieve ambitious goals.
- Demonstrated ability in managing a significant budget and working with complex financial systems.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Advanced communication skills in English (written and verbal).
- Intermediate communication skills in French (written and verbal).
- Knowledge of MS Office Suite.
- A graduate-level degree is an asset.
