O'Brien Lifting Solutions Inc. is a proud Canadian manufacturer of overhead cranes, jib cranes, workstation cranes and a supplier of commercial doors and loading dock equipment, serving the industry for 60 years. Our highly skilled service department provides 24/7 overhead crane service, commercial door repair and loading dock repair to reduce downtime.
**JOB SUMMARY**:
A Production Planner works with all departments and management to ensure the company hits its production goals on time and within budget. They handle all the scheduling and ensure the materials and labour are in place to meet delivery demands.
Production Planner will monitor the overall situation, including incoming orders, supply chain problems, inventory issues, to minimize the impact on production. They collaborate with other departments and the management team to set production goals. Production Planners will ensure that production and installation departments needs are met with the proper scheduling of employees.
**DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**:
- Assist in Procurement and Implementation of new scheduling software.
- Developing production schedules.
- Monitoring production processes.
- Monitoring material supplies.
- Organizing project paperwork.
- Troubleshooting production issues.
- Preparing performance reports.
- Planning, scheduling, and coordinating production of the company’s products.
- Evaluating raw materials and equipment to ensure everything is in place for production.
- Scheduling shifts and workers to provide proper coverage.
- Watching costs to ensure the production process stays within budget.
- Reporting on the production status and any production issues to upper management
- Handling production disruptions and productivity problems
- Finding ways to improve productivity and reduce costs.
- Using market forecasts and competitive analysis to anticipate necessary production changes.
**Production Planner skills and qualifications**
- Knowledge of production processes and quality control
- Math and analytical skills
- Preferred 3-5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Bachelor of Science in Engineering or Bachelor of Administration in Business/Operations or Project Management Diploma
- Technical skills using material requirements planning and scheduling software.
- Extensive experience in manufacturing industries, including scheduling, time management, safety protocols, indirect personnel management, and inventory control.
- Organizational Expertise: Able to collaborate across a matrixed organization of technical and production peers.
- Verbal and written communication skills

**Salary**: $50,000.00-$70,000.00 per year
