**ABOUT THE JOB**

The Training and Facilitation Lead will play a pivotal role in developing curriculum in consultation with communities and facilitating training for Peer Assisted Care Teams (PACT) to ensure the safety of staff and those accessing services. At times, this role will also be directed to facilitate other workshops, as required.
Under the direction of the Provincial Manager, Operations and Strategy, the Training and Facilitation Lead will provide operational support for the Peer Assisted Care Teams across the province.

**DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Under the supervision of the Provincial Manager, Operations and Strategy:
- Engage with community and provincial partners.
- Participate in agency strategic planning, policy and program evaluation, and issues management.
- Liaise with PACT agencies to assess training needs and gaps.
- Consult with new PACT communities around specific training needs.
- Develop a provincial standard for PACT training.
- Create intensive PACT specific curriculum.
- Conduct needs-based assessment and create and deliver on a multiyear training plan.
- Facilitate PACT training to all PACT agencies in BC.
- Facilitate other workshops, as needed.
- Work collaboratively with diverse partners across the province.
- Participate in committees and working groups.
- Maintain principles of reconciliation, decolonization, and equity.
- Provide advice to agency senior leadership, community agencies and other partners on training and training content.
- Oversee project budgets to ensure cost-effectiveness and program accountability.
- Engage people with lived experience and their families in co-design of training materials and service improvements.
- Ensure proper use of mechanisms that evaluate and track effectiveness of the training.
- Develop project reports, briefing notes and status updates.
- Other duties as assigned.

**ABOUT YOU**
- Education and Experience- A post-secondary degree, preferably related to mental health and substance use, social work, child and youth care or a similarly relevant discipline.
- A minimum of 2-3 years experience in curriculum development.
- A minimum of 1-2 years of project management experience.
- A minimum 2-3 years experience in facilitation and/or public speaking.
- Successful completion of background screening checks including a criminal record check and education verification.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent ability to foster constructive relationships at all levels.
- Excellent working knowledge of Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
- Knowledge of reconciliation, decolonization, and equity principles as they relate to health.
- Knowledge of the provincial mental health and substance use sector.
- Knowledge of harm reduction approaches to address substance use issues.
- Excellent time management and organization skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively and effectively with diverse communities and partners.
- Ability and confidence to work in a self-directed manner and lead large scale provincial initiatives.
- Capacity to juggle multiple demands with varying deadlines.

**WORKING CONDITIONS**
- The position is 37.5 hours per week, primarily during regular office business hours.
- The position can be based out of the Vancouver or Victoria office and offers the potential for a flexible working arrangement, including working remotely depending on project needs.
- The position requires occasional flexibility to travel.
- Performance will be reviewed annually by the Provincial Manager, Operations and Strategy.
- The job evaluation is currently under review.
