This position is a part of the Association of the Academic Staff of the University of Alberta (AASUA).

In accordance with the Temporary Librarian, Administrative and Professional Officer (TLAPO) Agreement, this position is an initial appointment of 1 year with the possibility of extension and offers a comprehensive benefits package found at Faculty & Staff Benefits and annual salary range of $66,730 to $111,144.

**Location** - North campus. This role is hybrid with a mix of remote and in person

**Department summary**

The Strategic Communications portfolio enables the University of Alberta to deliver on the vision and goals outlined in the university’s strategic plan. We illustrate the value that the U of A provides to our stakeholders, the community and to society as a whole.

In service of the One University strategy, we work with our partners to tie their operational and strategic plans into the larger university strategy in a way that moves the dial on important measures of success. **Position summary**

Reporting to the Senior Partner, Communications and Marketing, for their assigned College or Vice-president portfolio, the Partner, Communications and Marketing, is a key relationship manager and strategist responsible for the delivery of strategic communications, marketing, digital and creative services for the assigned portfolio.

The Partner creates and executes annual and project-specific communications and marketing strategies and work plans in support of university and client portfolio priorities. They enlist and coordinate resource needs from across Strategic Communications Centres of Expertise to ensure projects are delivered on time, on budget, within scope and in alignment with university-level strategies and plans.

As part of the team that advances the goals of one of the largest administrative units at the University of Alberta, Facilities & Operations, this position will play an integral role in the delivery of integrated communications, marketing, digital and creative services to internal and external audiences, with a focus on providing expertise and execution to high-profile initiatives like campus safety and security.

**Duties**
- Develops and implements long-term and project-specific communications and marketing strategies to support university and client portfolio priorities, heighten awareness, address multiple audiences, and deliver a coherent and unified message to internal and external audiences in a competitive, global market.
- Quickly analyzes information and provides strategic leadership and counsel to university leaders, and teammates within Strategic Communications and Marketing.
- Keeps abreast of relevant issues and trends that could affect the U of A’s brand and reputation. Advises leadership on reputational risks and implications of current or proposed actions.
- Identifies, builds, maintains and leverages relationships with internal and external stakeholders at the local, provincial, national and international level.
- Develops and manages strong stakeholder relationships through effective communication, client service and negotiation to ensure deliverables are met. Anticipates client/stakeholder needs and proactively addresses concerns.
- Actively pursues storytelling for internal and external channels, in alignment with strategy development and priority goals.
- Assigns and leads production management across direct team and engages centres of expertise in strategy development and tactical execution for marketing and communications projects related to Facilities and Operations.
- Assists the Senior Partner by guiding and mentoring colleagues across the team.

**Qualifications**
- Bachelor’s Degree
- 3-5 years of experience at the professional level
- Expertise in multi-stakeholder communication with senior leadership, internal / external clients and stakeholders at all organizational levels.
