**The Initiative**

Working is an important part of a person’s mental wellbeing because it provides people the opportunity to feel productive and contribute to their community. Responsible employers provide a physically safe environment for employees—but what about their psychological safety? Every workplace has psychological risks that impact productivity, turnover and economic costs. Supporting employees’ mental health can improve productivity, cut down on absences and increase employee retention. It can be a complex task, but CMHA is here to help. Through a suite of workplace mental health workshops, courses and certification, the Working Stronger initiative aims to improve workplace mental health across Alberta.

**The Role**

**Responsibilities**
- Training Delivery_
- Deliver workplace mental health training, on topics including but not limited to psychological health and safety, burnout, and compassion fatigue, among others, as scheduled.
- Manage training bookings, including but not limited to scheduling, invoicing, sending out pre and post work, evaluations, and reporting.
- Deliver workplace mental health content to the Working Stronger Network.
- Support creation, management, and maintenance of a Psychological Health & Safety Advisor community of practice and database.
- Work with the National Psychological Health & Safety working group to improve training.
- Identify and resolve any problems and gaps in existing and new training programs.
- Establish connections with trainees and potential trainees across Alberta.
- Training Development & Research_
- Research emerging workplace mental health priorities, needs and outcomes, as needed.
- Develop workplace mental health training programs and workshops based on emerging needs in Alberta.
- Explore collaborative and partnership-based training opportunities.
- Client Relations_
- Engage clients in CMHA’s training matrix.
- Outreach to potential and emerging clients to engage them in CMHA’s workplace mental health services.
- Meet financial goals by selling workplace mental health services, such as training, consulting services, speaking engagements, among others.
- Develop and maintain an innovative database framework for the department.
- Consulting_
- Consult workplaces on how to implement a workplace mental health strategy.
- Build and implement workplace mental health strategies for organizations and teams.
- Attend network and committee meetings to advise on workplace mental health.
- Relationship Building_
- Build and maintain relationships with external partners.
- Network with organizations throughout Alberta.
- Host Working Stronger and other networking events (virtually and/or in-person).
- Network & Conference Assistance_
- Assist the Working Stronger Network and its activities, including but not limited to, hosting webinars, sharing resources, and creating connection opportunities for members.
- Assist the Working Stronger conference in content development and speaker recruitment.
- Department Management_
- Manage department staff including, but not limited to, workload assignment and management, performance management and mentorship.
- Financial and non-financial reporting.
- Overall strategic planning and organizational alignment

**Requirements**:

- Post-Secondary Diploma in Business Administration or relevant discipline and/or equivalency of related work experience will be considered.
- Certification or other education related to psychological health and safety and/or mental health in the workplace.
- 3+ years in experience in facilitation and training.
- Experience in workplace wellness considered an asset.
- Valid Driver’s License.
- Clear Criminal Record Check and that is dated within 90 days of the start date.
