**Métis Justice Coordinator**
**Location**: Métis Nation of Alberta Youth Programming Centre, Edmonton, AB.
**Position Status**: Full-time (40 hours/week), Permanent.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Assist in Métis justice specific program planning, design, development, and implementation.
- Develop and maintain templates and tools to guide justice programs.
- Plan, implement, and facilitate justice related community engagement events and activities, including in-person presentations and discussions, and online engagements.
- Develop MNA Justice department citizen engagement guidelines, policies, procedures, and program evaluations.
- Develop and implement culturally sensitive surveys.
- Capture information in a respectful manner during engagement sessions.
- Report and analyze feedback and recommendations gathered from citizen engagements and develop justice related recommendations and policy advice for the MNA.
- Develop and maintain relationships with stakeholders on current and developing MNA justice program policy issues.
- Maintain awareness of government policies and programs related to justice and provide briefing and recommendations to the MNA.
- Support other MNA justice initiatives and complete other duties as required or assigned.

- An in-depth understanding of the Métis Nation of Alberta and Métis culture, government, people, and values.
- Ability to produce professional documents, reports, and presentations.
- Strong verbal, written, listening and interpersonal communication skills.
- Demonstrated time management and organization skills, with the ability to manage deadlines.
- Sound analytical thinking, planning, and execution skills.
- Strong sense of ethics and the ability to handle sensitive or confidential information with tact and discretion.
- Ability to work independently and within a team setting.
- Flexible and adaptable to work in a diverse and fast paced environment.
- Culturally sensitive, compassionate, and trustworthy.
- Ability to build collaborative relationships with a variety of internal and external stakeholders including government, industry, service providers, and community.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams) and Google Docs, Google Sheets and Google Forms.
**Qualifications**
- Post-secondary Degree/Diploma in a related field such as social work or criminal justice is required.
- Minimum of two (2) years relevant experience with event coordination and/or program planning, development, and implementation.
- Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered.
- Experience working in an Indigenous organization or remote Indigenous communities is an asset.
- Experience working in the justice field is an asset.
- Training in Trauma-Informed Care or Indigenous Awareness Training are considered assets.
- Grant writing experience is an asset.
**Other Requirements**
- Ability to work a regular schedule of Monday through Friday from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm, with availability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends, on occasion.
- Must be willing to travel within Alberta and work irregular hours, on occasion, to meet project needs.
- Must have a valid Class 5 Driver’s License and operational vehicle.
- Police Information Check with Vulnerable Sector screening will be required.
- Intervention Record Check required.
